Typhoon Tip
Not that anyone cares outside this domain but that's a big time icing event for southern IL/IN and Ohio
ORH_wxman
LOl...the Euro is trying to partially phase the polar s/w with the PV and drive this west of us.

ORH_wxman
LOl...the Euro is trying to partially phase the polar s/w with the PV and drive this west of us. Looks like it kind of fails though...thats a lot of gradient to overcome. It actually keeps the mix line further south this run overall.
H2Otown_WX
LOl...the Euro is trying to partially phase the polar s/w with the PV and drive this west of us. That sounds like something it is prone to do at this time range.

That would be about the only way that could go west of us - if the SPV remains in tact, it can't, if bodily comes down, sure -
vttaconics
Pingers all the way into southern VT and NH.... wow.
ORH_wxman
Sfc is damn cold this run....colder than 00z for down here which was already below frz.
CoastalWx
It's a little colder overall. Not bad. Sill pings like a mofo for a time, but the vortmax slows the latitude gain once it gets into the OV.

ORH_wxman
It actually ends up driving the vortmax south of SNE at 108h...that would certainly support the somewhat colder solution int he MLs compared to 00z.
weathafella
Euro is further south with H85 this run vs 0z. AWT.
dendrite
Pingers all the way into southern VT and NH.... wow. It's a little colder than 00z. Probably all snow for VT/NH.
CoastalWx
Sfc is damn cold this run....colder than 00z for down here which was already below frz. Same here. I just get to about 32 or so if you take this run verbatim.
phishn
Not in this time range it didn't. I think it had a blizzard for Binghamton and Syracuse. Ah yeah you are right. Its only Saturday, but I'm looking for the situations where it does well and noticed it seems to handle cold situations ok. Overall not concerned about exact solutions right now, eyeballing trends. ORH_wxman
It flips any pingers back to snow for SNE at 108h and then gives like 1-3" as it exits stage right....overall its definitely a colder appeal than 00z run.

dabize
Euro likes the idea of moving snow into the area Tuesday morning out ahead of the main storm. Since I have a lecture and lab to give Tuesday, I was checking this, and it looks like that is true of the 12z NAM, GFS and Canadian as well. All seem to have a significant preliminary event for SNE at 72-84h Is there a reason why BOX makes no mention of it whatever anywhere?

Yea, I noticed that hint of SPV getting involved failed on the next panel ... as a result the confluence stays in tact and forces the Euro's hand S with v-max
Bostonseminole
Well, I think I am going to be happy with mostly snow with some pingers... if we get all snow then is a plus.
weatherMA
When even the warmest (not counting crazy uncle) keeps me mostly snow I feel ok...too bad were still 3-4 days out. I like that it didn't get warmer though.
CoastalWx
QPF seems like maybe 1-1.5" or so?? You SV peeps pull out the weenie qpf maps if you could. Nice long duration event. I'm sure there would be lingering light snows after the appetizer leaves.
