ORH_wxman
I always thought, at least where I live, that all of Maine is in NNE. Where actually could one say CNE begins and stops? Is Maine divided as CNE and NNE? You could probably include the southern part of Maine as SNE...like PWM southward...its really just a grey area between SNE and NNE...I kind of consider CNE as being from N ORH countyback to NW MA near Rt 2 northward to about CON or dendrites area. mattb65
Impressive the level of concern over this system with such a large lead time ie already scheduling recon flights etc and already 50% POPs for snow from BOX, only saw them that high with this lead time for 1/12. Hope the whole area gets in on this one. Even though ray says climo says sig accumulation from a storm unlikely due to snow pack and etc. Climo also argued that my parents in north bmore suburbs would never have a ~50" snow pack last year(albeit short lived). I think Kevin will be posting pics of snow piles above the 1st story of his house and completely burying that fine pine tree by the end of this storm. Best winter ever. snowNH
no snow for you snownh What a low blow guys, when you know I only have a 5 post a day limit lol... Maybe this is a plea to dendrite to allow me for more posts? Lesson learned.. plus I've read a lot of posts during the last storm to recognize a stupid post from a good post Reinstate me for CNE juju For the next storm.. if it doesn't work you can "5 a day me" again lol For cne juju dendrite, do it for cne
TalcottWx
Got one hanging up in the shed......lol People here in the eastern most point in the city of boston area shoveling off their roofs. Never seen or even heard of someone doing it here. Hell, I jut right out into the middle of the ocean and the harbour where I live! City is removing snow on the main street also, nuts. Up north above me, Most houses have metal roofs so they unload after so much snow is on them, Myself i have a portion which does not have a lot of pitch, If its a windy snowstorm no prob most of it blows off if not, I need to roof rake the front portion to protect against ice daming
MainePhotog
This is how I see it. (seems similar to your view) That map would put me in NNE. ORH_wxman
Euro ensemble mean is similar to the OP run..maybe a tick colder. Still would get some sleet issues at least to the pike if not a bit north of that. It does look like a decent dump of snow though for MA into S half of NH and S ME. weatherMA
Nice model runs to come home to. As far as hype, I have noticed news stations trying to down play the storm, even if they think it has a good chance of being a good storm, just so the public doesn't blow it out of proportion. From what I observed last night, I dont think giving accumulations even matters lol. From the last storm one guy thought we got 6" and then someone was insistant they got over 18" (same town). People are already expecting another snow day at school lol. Then again, their probably right.

mahk_webstah
The previous SWFE trended warmer aloft than progs. We'll see. I feel hope for up here, but the Doc isn't a slam dunk guarantee lately. Maybe just a finger roll just over the fingertips of Robert Parrish? You are probably too young to remember that. tamarack
For any of you guys looking for snow rakes, this appears to be in stock and can have it tuesday if you second day ship it... If the big storms keep coming, they'll need to do what the folks at Pittston Farm (NW of Moosehead Lake) did in 2008 - kept a snowblower atop the low-pitched roof above their kitchen.
