In a classic screw job even for the Jersey coast it seems that this area went from heavy rain/sleet to heavy snow then, by the grace of God, what I can only describe as the eyewall kissed the coast and with that we kissed goodbye to 1-3" per hour snowfall rates and ended up with an inch or two of new snow when all was said and done. Quincy Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 some photos include 6 foot snow piles (common) along main roads, in front of local businesses. the one with the traffic lights is hard to see, but snow is piling up so much that it's literally blocking 1.5 out of 3 lanes. also, snow piled up along my street, very impressive heights. The black and white effect makes the photo so much more dramatic! If I were a director, I would immediately start imagening a 1940's murder mystery film. patrick05 Posted January 29, 2011 Share Posted January 29, 2011 i only took pics/vids during the first batch... moderate to heavy snow: this was around 30 mins before we changed over to sleet... 40-45dBz echoes if i remember correctly... the camera (cellphone) makes it lighter than what it seemed though...
