WxUSAF
Any other model support? 0Z Euro had something fairly similar from what I can tell on Ewall. The other globals are also showing a storm, but of course the track has some large variability. I have a hard time seeing a lakes cutter with the massive PV in central Canada pushing everything south. I think a supressed solution is far more likely than a cutter. Midlo Snow Maker
Any other model support? 0z euro was a nice hit for va, not much above that though 0z ggem was a major cutter
Quasievil
Should we be concerned with the Vort on the GFS sitting over Pittsburgh @ 156? That doesn't seem like a good track to me.
CarolineWx
12 GFS looks like snow to ice storm here in Central VA, but i can see sighs that the southeast ridge may be a factor next week
Ji
0z euro was a nice hit for va, not much above that though 0z ggem was a major cutter i think GGEM cut and then transferred. Would of implied a period of snow and ice for us

Overrunning events are a different beast than what we just had. The vort going over/north of us is why the coastal pops at about our latitude and then hits NY/SNE on later panels. Vort is not that much of an issue for overrunning events.

Ji
actually..if the GFS tracked NW even a bit, it would be a major ice storm for us as opposed to a snowstorm

PhineasC
It has been a long time since I can remember a real nice overrunning event here....dare I say PD II? It has been a while. clskinsfan
OK. I will take 8-10 inches of overrun snow. Sounds like fun.

Ji
Would be nice if the GFS could pick up some model support EURO gives is support somewhat but its more suppressed. GGEM looks like its cuts but who cares..it was the most inside runner model last week and it Failed again

WxUSAF
GGEM cuts this thing all the way to South Bend, Indiana http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/data/model_forecast/595_100.gif

Terpeast
I have a hard time seeing this being a lakes cutter, too. Either suppressed or a Mid atlantic hit is more likely.... and I think this one has more cold air than yesterday, so there's a chance it could be an even bigger hit if the 12z GFS track holds.
