psuhoffman
i dunno.. they've had like 60" of snow this month, plus 1-2' right before jan started. my sis in law shot me an e-mail yesterday saying it's like nothing she's seen (before this last foot) and she was in buf for a few years. I got 67" in 12 days up here from January 30th to Feb 10th last year and that is about what it looked like. Drifts were up to the roofs along some buildings. I can believe thats what its like up there because I remember it here a year ago.
weathergeek
What has this forum turned into? CSI DC? Guys...if you look at the right side of the garage (looking towards it), you'll notice that there's a nice gap between the top of the snowpile and the garage. Looking at the picture and taking everything into account, I'd say that the snow on the ground is probably about halfway up the garage doors - probably just a little less. A lot of snow, no doubt, but those piles certainly make it look more impressive than it actually is. And it's pretty dang impressive already. And I agree with mitchnik - that's just too much. What are you actually going to do with it? Swim in it? Having it melt, then getting another 20" would be far more enjoyable. But I digress. Bring on the Euro - I wanna see that thing settle into a groove with the GFS.

I-83 BLIZZARD
I think for us elevation really helps. You get around a 1000 feet you eek out some nice totals and ratios. I think that picture is legit. Staging can only do so much. I think he used a more favorable angle but at the end of the day that picture shows something amazing. samdman95
I'm sure the media won't hype it at all. They are advertising a chance for a major storm next week (on nbc at least). I hope they have learned from their mistakes

I lost power in Odenton last night at about 9pm. I was sitting on the couch with my 8 3/4 months pregnant wife, with no electricty, a whiteout snowstorm, and a 30 minute plus drive to the hospital in good weather. And our particular side street is always the last to get plowed. At any rate, she didn't pop so all is well.

grhqofb5
But if she did, than you would be on TV! True, I could have played an Obstetrician on Grey's Anatomy, because I would have been delivering that baby in my garage (not on our kitchen's wood floor). But seriously, it had me a little bit nervous. I have 4 wheel drive and can say that I've never gotten stuck on the road my my vehicle, so things probably would have been alright.
