baroclinic_instability
Do you think it'll be less suppressed than the 12z? It will probably be better than its 12Z run--a lot better since it already looks nearly identical to the GFS.

baroclinic_instability
Do you think it'll be less suppressed than the 12z? One potential major area of potential suppression has been likely averted--and that was a phase with the first wave and the incitement of CAA into the plains and height falls aloft suppressing anything that tries to develop. ILSNOW
Tomba from Nyc board through hr 72 at h5 the northern stream is hanging back more and is a little more involved than 12z. alittle more ridging out ahead of the storm
baroclinic_instability
Looks GFS like except it has a sharper northern stream wave and may phase early sending this even farther N if that were to link up.

snowstormcanuck
go to sleep? It's out to 72! Meh, the jist is good enough for me. It'll be much improved over the 12z EURO and in line with the other guidance. Whether the low's over Detroit of Pittsburgh this far out seems kind of irrelevant to me. baroclinic_instability
Given the hugely amplified Pacific RIdge and the way this looks like it wants to link up--by the time the trough sniffs the plains low level baro zone it could be rather significant and possibly explosive. Alek may be happy--hard to say but that is my guess.
