snowstormcanuck
There's more stream interaction that previous GFS runs, but it doesn't looks like a phase is going to materialize on the 0z.
The_Global_Warmer
this will come north
baroclinic_instability
There is Hoosiers storm. GFS much less suppressed in the northern stream height field.
A-L-E-K
pretty good step in the right direction out to 102hr.. its really trying. Will it be a trend is the quesiton, if the GFS did this, you can imagine what the NAM would have busted out.
buckeye
guarantee it's coming north...maybe or maybe not significantly but it will

Not all the region needs a phase as this run shows--but folks like you and folks in WI will probably need one in some manner.

snowstormcanuck
That was step 1. Step 2 is to get the EURO back on board. Step 3 is to somehow keep that model consensus for 120+ hours.

A-L-E-K
yea, the 500mb setup took a dump at hr 120 you were right on it coming north, that's for sure. I need a little more phasing and it's boom goes the dynamite.

Organizing Low
Will it be a trend is the quesiton, if the GFS did this, you can imagine what the NAM would have busted out. its a significant move by the GFS IMO. most likely a compromise solution will end up on the table now. im sticking with my idea in the eastern lakes of a classic overrunner for the OV and along the I-90 corridor. this will NOT be crushed south of there IMO.....unless its a turd piece of energy that passes off the SE coast. if we see more phasing on all modeling, then obviously that could change and both of us could get into the game. baroclinic_instability
looked weak or partial to me. Shows just what a monster it could be. If it phased fully and took on the right orientation it would be a bad monster with plenty of liquid.
dilly84
Would much rather see it hammering in the 48-72hr time frame. I'm not a fan of being near the bullseye this far out
The_Global_Warmer
WOuld be an EPIC storm for STL. with a line of 12-15 inches and most of the metro with 10+ with parts with tons of sleet.
buckeye
you were right on it coming north, that's for sure. I need a little more phasing and it's boom goes the dynamite. that's about the ceiling for me. And getting close for hoosier too. Considering its +120 hrs out that may or may not be a good thing
Stebo
If it phased fully and took on the right orientation it would be a bad monster with plenty of liquid. Probably something in the 12z Ukie realm.
