ArtRosen
I want to see that and a snownado one day! How awesome something like that would be-- a tornado wrapped in a wall of white! It would probably look like a dust devil with snow lol Ask and you shall receive.
ArtRosen
It is never enough. I saw roughly 90" last winter, and 4 MECS/HECS (I travelled back to DC for when they got more--saw 20.5" on 12/19, 6.5" on 1/30, 27" on 2/5, then back in NYC saw 10" with 2/11 and 20" with 2/25). I've seen another two HECS this winter (24" with 12/27 and 19" with this past storm, as well as the 8-9" with the 1/7 event). I've seen roughly 150" since last December, SEVEN MECS+, and 4 storms with over 20" (almost 5). Still, I WANT MORE. NEVER ENOUGH!!! Although it's wonderful as is. I'm not sure if you're exhibiting greed or gluttony or both... either way, I'm happy with not seeing one more snowflake for the rest of this winter. Do you have to dig your driveway and your car out? Sock Puppet
I have to shovel and I want more snow. Many here want more and if you don't want that's fine, just quit going into every model thread and posting how you don't want anymore snow. ArtRosen
Go crap in another thread with this negativity Whatever dude. I run my own business so every time I have spent 2-3 hours digging out my car or paying someone else $60 to do it for me, it's money out of my pocket. So far, I've dug out my car 4 times now, 3 times it took me 2-3 hours. That's 12 hours gone. Today I tried to do it but there was too much ice so I paid a crew of guys $60 to do it for me. Money's tight... can't afford a snowblower. When you pray for God to water your crops, you're also praying for God to smite other crops. Just a lesson. Sock Puppet
I'm not saying it doesn't take a toll but people here enjoy snow, lots and lots and lots of it and if you don't that's fine but it does no good posting negative comments. I'd shovel you out if I lived nearby. Whatever dude. Sock Puppet
Lol. It's not the snow I'm taking seriously, it's just me expressing my annoyance in your constant posts complaining about snow. I here it from too many people and I come here to share my joy with others who share the same passion. Dude - you need to calm down and stop taking snow so seriously. I'd shovel you out if I lived nearby. I enjoy snow too. I enjoy getting a big storm in early December, having a cold first half of December, warming up towards the end of December, having a frigid early January, a mild mid January, a cold late January and a BIG storm in early-mid February. That's been our pattern for the past bunch of winters. Two SECS or MECS a winter is just dandy. But this kind of snow every single week is just nuts. I'm allowed to express that. It's not against board rules. You harrassing me every thread I post in, is.

I LOVE snow, but there just isn't any more room here. We're not allowed to throw it back in the street.
billgwx
The METAR prevailing vsbys below are from the tower. Note the "SFC VIS" in the remarks that are not quite as bad...either 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile, along with drifting snow which may have contributed to the vsby reduction. Agreed. Obs like these from JFK - 3 straight hours of 1/8 mi or less visibility - cast even more doubt on their snowfall report. Their visibilities were lower than LGA and EWR for all three of these obs. Perhaps the strong winds contributed to the relatively lower visibilities, but considering how wet the snow was I doubt it. If I feel like stopping, you'll be the first to know. I appreciate your comments and feedback, however; you don't dictate what I do and do not say on a message board. I sympathize with whatever financial difficulties you have incurred as a result of the heavy snow. However, this is a weather site, and clearly 99% of people adore the snow, so consistently saying you don't want anymore could rub people the wrong way. That being said, we all have hobbies: some like to ski; some like to golf; some like to travel....and these things all cost money. Generally speaking, this hobby is cheaper than any other. Sure, you may have to break the bank a bit this year, but you might be able to go the next 10 at bargain basement prices....just sayin.
Wannabehippie
Anybody know what the official ratios were at the recording/spotter areas for last night. Guest Patrick
I still can't believe that I was the jackpot for this in NJ... 19" for the daily total... I was happy I didn't have to be the one to report it to OKX... looks like a DOT official did. You all that were sleeping last night wouldn't have believe it, coming from a weenie. haha. This trend so far, from 2010-2011, has had the highest totals between my house and W/C Jersey. While I am enjoying this, nothing lasts forever. I'm just really glad that so many people got to experience "the band" last night... Not one meteorologist predicted over 12 inches for NYC. Just amazing.
