CT Rain
Crap, the band is losing something finally down here across SW CT The higher dbz echoes are going to wash out as the column cools more and your transition to a finer snow. IR shows cloud tops cooling and probably eventually pivoting ORH-HFD
Clinch Leatherwood
Look at the dry slot ripping north on IR across RI and SE Mass... even up to BOS. I don't know how to post a wxtap animation on here but it shows up real well on that. Yeah it's filling a bit too, but it's going to be a tightrope. HRRR could potentially screw a lot of the Cape, and it might even make it to me. WIll be an interesting, it keeps it 5 miles to my SE.. Like I said, soon as Box puts out a warning down this way the sun comes out. I've never seen anything like it, it's like having a radio show. Radar looks like $hit south of Block Island. I'll be lucky to get 2 inches out of this. I think you'll be fine on the wrap, but time is ticking. Storm only has probably 6-7 hours left. I think forecasts are going down the drain pretty fast potentially down this way not so much because of the dryslot/but in combination with it as it's indicative of a little more warm air than modeled. I figured 3-7" more with part two, I'm hopeful still. Those earlier color box maps that had me in the 8+ I think are going to go done hard. No knock on them...late night ramblings I'm tired and ready for bed. House is shaking. I'm hoping soon for a storm where we have no warning, just an advisory like the first one of the year. Warnings on the cape/area are bad juju. It's 1am and still flipping between heavy sleet and snow here. I think it is a bit west too based on webcams. It better thunder east because if it keeps crawling at this rate it'll be 3am before it changes and ....
Deathofthebambino
Ask "czar" what his name is. He is a cornell met and I haven't been able to figure out who he is...he is younger than me...I'm talking about SOSH. I don't post in the weatherporn thread in P&G...but I see him post a lot. I think he said he is class of '05 which means I went two years at Cornell with him since I'm 2003...but I haven't figured it out. I'll shoot him a message, but I'm pretty sure he's around here too, so he might get to you first.
weatherwiz
Probably fast asleep in his Euro feet pajamas. His bedroom ceiling probably has glow in the dark constellations. The walls have blueprints and sketches detailing exactly where he is going to put the snow in the event of back to back KU's.
snowwoman
just like that the wind stopped howling, still dumping though!
Mr Torchey
Excellent dendrites now, snow is much drier, even though intensity has let up a bit, the fluff factor is kicking in, accumulating very quickly, like I said earlier, somebody along the ct shore will be 15"+ easily
DomNH
Approaching 1/12/11 level of ripping right now. Not the 15 minute whiteout, but before that.

IR shows cloud tops cooling and probably eventually pivoting ORH-HFD Ahhh thanks, encouraging enough...but I liked those big old whiteout flakes...not that this isn't insanely heavy, but it's not what it was 30 minutes ago. Come on, 20, come on!

IR shows cloud tops cooling and probably eventually pivoting ORH-HFD I wonder if we can get things to pivot over us until around 2-3 AMish...pretty close to 1 and no signs of a letup yet or eastward push...but once that eastward push occurs it's going to happen fast so that makes it a bit difficult to gauge how long this will last. He bad mouthed eastern in the wx porn thread back in the day when we were still there, lol. So I was just wondering. He seems like a good guy and knows his stuff, but was just curious. I probably know him...it would be hard for me not to if he really is class of '05.
skierinvermont
It's not totally unbelievable.. that area has been absolutely rocked the last 45 min. I'd find 2.5" more believable... 3" is just incredibly extreme.

r6inct
Mike's is good, I actually like Domenic's better though. Snow intensity down a hair, wind hasn't been very gusty in the past 5-10 mins. Really can't wait to see what everything looks like in the morning. Just went through that for a couple of minutes, wind is back and back to heavy snowfall.
