I'm about 2 miles to the south of downtown North Haven.. that 45-50 dBZ is def being effected by either graupel or sleet. Pingers on and off, didnt have any pingers with 30 dBZ snow. CoastalWx
must be from the ct/ri/ma border up to just N of BOS? Heaviest echoes are usually on the leading edge of the cold cloud tops with these storms. You're fine for now.
Deathofthebambino
Picked up 1" since 1030...1.5" on the day....SG is meh 26.2\25 Tipping down after a HI of 27 a bit earlier. Check again man. It's ripping here right now and the flakes are definitely getting bigger in size. Picked up a LOT in the last 20 minutes or so.
ORH_wxman
1.3 from that. Won't be able to measure till morning now. I just wiped the slate clean....get to cheat now officially. I could have done it earlier but i didnt get home until late. So now there is no more compaction from the obs here on out. It undoubtedly compacted between when i measured and when it fell...I may have gotten more earlier.

sankaty
Gotta say this is one of the strangest and most exciting storm evolutions I've seen in a long time I was just thinking that. The inconsistent modelling made for exciting, throwback forecasting. The prexisting snowpack helped take the sting out of a potential bust. Then it all seemed like it would come together and . . . Kbosch
Upton takes me to near 14" with storm ending by sunrise. I may be there by 1:30 I work on Main St near Saint James, not too far from BDR, by lunch I was cleaning about 3.5 off my car, we had a couple of great bands come through. I'm near Mill River now so not too far but I'm sure we are doing a little better than BDR. I had about 4 later in the afternoon, and 4.5 before the big show started. I watched basically all day and BDR just missed on some of the big stuff this morning/afternoon. It almost cut Lordship off perfectly. Right now they've been barely to the south of the best stuff in a similar way.
CoastalWx
You can sort of see the deformation band setting up near Will. Look at the echoes move nw, but that band remains stationary or even sagging se.
40/70 Benchmark
They've been favored all along. That's where everything maximized. Yea, that is why I mentioned to Forky that that wouldn't translate up here.

nutmegfriar
I don't know how Kevin can sleep through this. Probably fast asleep in his Euro feet pajamas. His bedroom ceiling probably has glow in the dark constellations. The walls have blueprints and sketches detailing exactly where he is going to put the snow in the event of back to back KU's. Picked up a LOT in the last 20 minutes or so. Ask "czar" what his name is. He is a cornell met and I haven't been able to figure out who he is...he is younger than me...I'm talking about SOSH. I don't post in the weatherporn thread in P&G...but I see him post a lot. I think he said he is class of '05 which means I went two years at Cornell with him since I'm 2003...but I haven't figured it out.
