I am very close to that..When I can get outside to shovel in a bit I'll get some measurements around the yard..but considering my fences are buried and are 3 feet high it's close to that

the difference though is you've been gradually building that so you've got a true solid torch-resistant snow pack. mine came in two back to back events

There is no way you are a 36" snow depth...I beat you by 3-3.5" in the front ender last week and then beat you again in the fluff bomb....I know you beat me in the Jan 12 event, but only by like 4-5" and this one you beat me by a a few inches too...so we should be close to even with you on top by maybe 2-3" total...and I have a 26-27" snow depth. I bet you have maybe 30"....no way its 36" ifr you measure truthfully everywhere...not just your BY.

Yeah it might not be that high..but I'm certain it's over 30 inches..there is no doubt about that.

Dude, another congrats is necessary. There is something sort of poetic about the king weenie having the winter of his life... this is the type of thing you dream about all summer when you are on the torch parade. Enjoy every minute of it.

Agreed. We will never here Kevin complain about pinging again.

er----yes we will :)

Congrats!

Make sure you measure in a sun exposed spot outside of your yard....its obviously ugly to do that, but thats where the actual snow depth truth comes in.

Anyone like skiMRG or me can measure our back yards and say there is a 40" depth but its not truthful unless you go to spots where ther eis exposure...and then take the average....I guess its truthful in the sense that your actual house has 40" of snow but its kind f fake unless you play the game over the whole area.

Like in my area...the sunny side of the street probably has a 19-21" depth and I have a 31" depth...but I don't go by my shady spot that has 3 feet. At any rate I guess its semantics, but I prefer people to do it the truthful way as to not skew obs so we are comparing apples to apples rather than comparing someones shady spot that never gets any sun to a poster who says 14" depth in total sun.

I had about 4" but that was complete fluff...almost zero water content, so that wont make much of a difference between our areas if we're talking 3-4 inches. Also you have to give my area a little more credit for holding snow pack because you know it does.

Like in the warmer event last week, you were 33F for hours while I was 30F and ZR. It might not seem like a huge deal, but it add up and starts to make up for those fluff bomb differences.

I don't get too much sun here in any one spot..so I'll go to all diff spots.

Also see my post about the 2 norluns..

Their January totals are pretty legit. You can't really argue about a few inches out of 40-50. Every station has that degree of error.

They are about 5" too high in Jan from the double barrel norlun/inverted trough events, but it doesn't matter for the record I don't think. But they are about 5" too high...they were 6" too high in the Boxing day storm.

I know they received a lot, but some of the totals were a little on the high side. It doesn't really take a way from the record, just pointing it out.

Kulaginman needs to start posting....he joined our threads a while ago from my former stomping grounds in the lakes region of NY....but he can post now.

I know you are probably feeling the waters for SNE climo and meteorology, but you are still a very good met, so you should post your thoughts.

I agree with you but they really did over report by a good foot and even in this winter that is substantial. For Jan the half foot over reported is more negligable but when you add the boxing day to it, it has some teeth.

They definitely have an overmeasurer over there this season. They are not coming in with any totals on the low side. My biggest beef is where they added almost 7" to their Boxing Day total which was not a measurement error.
