Will why do you watch The Weather Chode so much? You have more knowledge than their whole building....

Awesome that they show that though.

hahahaha.

I dont watch it much at all...but I just have it on in the backround if the storm is during off-hours like this one is. Nothing else on.

Oh my god, this storm is the best of the year.

I have 9" as of about 10 minutes ago. I cleared off the porch, sidewalk, and some of the driveway...it's heavy (weight). But by the time I got back to the porch 5 minutes later 0.25" had accumulated. We are getting walloped.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM THURSDAY MORNING/...

-- Changed Discussion --NOT MUCH CHANGE TO THE FORECAST...DID INCREASE SNOW AMOUNTS A FEW

INCHES IN SPOTS BASED ON IMPRESSIVE BANDING NOTED BY THE LATEST

DOPPLER RADAR LOOP. USED QPF AMOUNTS A BIT MORE IN LINE WITH THE

00Z GFS. INCREASED WIND GUSTS ACROSS SE MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE

ISLAND DUE TO PRESSURE FALLS AND DECENT PRESSURE GRADIENT WIND.

WINTER STORM HEADLINES REMAIN AS IS.

THE MAIN EVENT IS RAPIDLY DEVELOPING OVER THE MID ATLANTIC

STATES. WE ARE QUITE IMPRESSED BY THE LATEST SATELLITE AND RADAR

IMAGERY OVER THE MID ATLANTIC STATES. LOW PRESSURE IS IN THE

PROCESS OF BOMBING OFF THE DELAWARE COAST AND THERE ARE LIGHTNING

STRIKES SHOWING UP.

WHAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON IN THE MID ATLANTIC STATES CERTAINLY HAS

US CONCERNED. THE GFS MODEL SEEMS TO HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON THIS

SITUATION. THE GFS SHOWS EXCELLENT SNOWGROWTH JUST TO THE WEST AND

NORTH OF THE 700 MB TROUGH AXIS. THE BRUNT OF THE STORM LOOKS TO

TAKE PLACE THROUGH 5 AM. THIS IS A HIGH IMPACT BUT SHORT DURATION

EVENT.

IT APPEARS THAT 8 TO 12 INCHES WILL FALL OVER A VERY SHORT TIME

ACROSS MUCH OF EASTERN MA/RHODE ISLAND INCLUDING THE BOSTON

METROPOLITAN AREA. A RUMBLE OR TWO OF THUNDER IS POSSIBLE.

UPDATED THE SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND SNOW GRAPHIC FORECAST.

RAIN OR RAIN/SNOW FALLING ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS WILL

CHANGE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL OCCUR AS THE LOW BOMBS OUT. WE ARE

CONCERNED IN THIS REGION FOR A HEAVY WET SNOW WITH TEMPERATURES

NEAR FREEZING DURING THE EVENT. THIS MAY RESULT IN A FEW DOWNED

TREE LIMBS AND ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES...ESPECIALLY AS NORTHEAST

WINDS RAPIDLY INCREASE OVERNIGHT. THIS IS SOMETHING WILL HAVE TO

KEEP AN EYE ON FOR THIS REGION.

BESIDES SNOW...WINDS WILL BE AN ISSUE ACROSS EXPOSED PORTIONS OF

THE S COAST...ISLANDS AND THE CAPE ESPECIALLY. A WIND ADVISORY

REMAINS OVER NANTUCKET ISLAND.

FOR COASTAL FLOOD ISSUES...SEE COASTAL FLOOD SECTION BELOW.-- End Changed Discussion --

75% Sleet, 25% snow

What's really strange is the RUC has both you and HLF...thin warm layer up over 8h...I'm at freezing at that level right now and fighting the sleet. Roads are covering over.

Kev to Will ftw

I think in terms of max QPF it'll be S central/SE CT over through parts of RI...maybe up through Bob and out.

Nothing but heavy sleet in Newport, more rain drops than flakes mixed in.
