ict1523 Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 It's also a wetter, heavier snow than the storm from 2 weeks ago. Plus there's much more of it on the ground! The amount on the ground is ridiculous. One more storm and there will be nowhere to put it. And I'm loving it completely. Given the 12/26 cement on the bottom, the layer of sleet/frz rn, the wet stuff today, this is going to take forever to melt even with warm temperatures, which don't look to be coming any time soon. ace0927 Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 you gotta be f-in kidding me !!!!!!!!!!! thats 6in/hr but I see some 45+ dbz echos so that isn't totally unsubstantiated.. i put out a shallow cardboard box on my deck and 103AM...at 118AM I picked it up and was SHOCKED....I can tell you that from 12AM thru 130AM i received 5.5 inches....this whole night has been ridiculous...if i knew how to get a picture from my phone onto this page id do it... I havent been able to see the streetlights in 3 hours or more. we received abt 6" in less than 2 hrs what the heck happened to the radar across the entire NE over the past 20 mins? I could barely even see past the hood of my car for a good portion of the ride. Cleared my car off at one point, within 3 minutes, at least 1/4 inch of snow fell. 84 and 7, main roads, nearly impassable in sections, especially at just about every on and off-ramp. Do you know the record for amount of snow in a 30 day period? It had to have been shattered tonight. 50" in a 30 day period is an impressive feat just about anywhere east of the Rockies. This is a storm for the books. Snow is coming down super duper heavy right now.
