steve5728
Not true. They closed schools during regents week several years ago. I forgot which year it was though. It was also in January, Could have been either in 2003,2004 or 2005. I remember that!!!

Chris L
20" would be excellent. 13-19" would be good" 10-12" is passable. Anything less than 10" is a screwjob! All 4 New York Metro locations are reporting heavy snow! It is incredible Alex, I have 8-9" so far *added with the snow we had this morning*. ict1523
Just finished shoveling. Very heavy snow, both in terms of rates and weight. Wind has died down somewhat. Also tons of lightning that was almost continuous for a while. Didn't hear thunder though.

Sundog
20" would be excellent. 13-19" would be good" 10-12" is passable. Anything less than 10" is a screwjob! All 4 New York Metro locations are reporting heavy snow! I think we can squeeze out another 6 inches if all goes well to the already 4-6 inches from round 2 and the 3-5 inches from round 1 giving a grand total of 13-17 inches. My almost 5 inches from earlier were alive and well when round 2 started. Not sure how Ace's round 1 snow managed to disappear.

eduggs
Minor storm for the mid-hudson valley. Credit to the GFS and NAM for consistently keeping the 0.5 isopleth across Westchester County. NCEP doing well this year. Not as solid from the Euro, UK, GGEM, and JMA in the lead in. That makes three 3-4 inch events in the past week. Lets keep in rolling this weekend and next week! Drove through Danbury and there are some massive snowpiles around there. Nice winter going on.

viking70
Up to 7.5 inches now for the day. 4.5 in the last 3 3/4 hours. 28.5 degrees. Heavy snow. Looks like once again I am going to miss out on the heaviest bands and thundersnow. Still a great storm. Raising my hand!! I just have to say that snow is one of the most amazing things no matter if you have 1 inch or 20 inches!!
