Very likely not something we'll see again for many years. The SW Nassau snowhole has just gotten raped up the arse.

Unbelievable. How long can we sustain snow rates like this? And it looks to be pivoting and developing overhead and not heading out.

dont jinx it- hopefully another 3-4 hours

Looking at the loop this thing looks to be slowing slightly and really winding up. I also notice the back edge of the precip which was moving E has almost stopped. Anybody back up this observation?

18Z RGEM busted on its 12 hr. snapshot map.

Ok, I am not one to overexaggerate rates, I think we might be approaching 4"/hr, the snow got heavier again and its hard to make out the house across the street. And I'm on a narrow side street.

NYC had I believe .31" liquid in 1 hr a few hours ago.

I recorded 3.3" in 1 hr period as well.

No exaggeration.

Enjoy buddy.

Amazing. Sad I am missing out though. Did you see any thunder/lightning at all? I was in Marlboro for this December and seems like ratios are outpacing that. An incredible snow thump.

Speaking of Marlboro, just measured 9.5 inches here so far and still coming down. (all from 2nd batch) When the initial slug of heavy precip made it up this way earlier this evening, I saw/heard lightning and thunder and then all of a sudden the skies opened up and it literally poured heavy sleet here. It almost looked like grape sized hail!!!!! Unreal.
