Sey-Mour Snow
This is pretty close to what's going to be happening later JMHO. People need to relax and not worry about the NAM. that switches 100 miles west and east every hour
weatherwiz
Same here. Even up to the Mass border we're getting crap for snowgrowth. We're getting no lift where we want it now..... If we don't start seeing better snowgrowth and lift soon we'll end up closer to the 6'' side than 12''.
MaineJayhawk
I'm thinking GYX might want to consider increasing the <.5" accum they've listed in my point forecast.

CoastalWx
If we don't start seeing better snowgrowth and lift soon we'll end up closer to the 6'' side than 12''. The better lift I think will come with that heavier stuff to the south.

Tropopause_Fold
well...i'm headed out early so i can get up when it matters later on...don't see this doing much in eastern areas until after midnight through dawn. to those in western areas...good luck. eekuasepinniW
Radar looking pretty awesome...that stuff from S of LI going to slam into the already ML fronto band setting up and probably intensifying everything. Wow...looking at that, it seems crazy that my forecast has no mention of accumulation and only a 50% chance of snow.
mattmfm
that switches 100 miles west and east every hour It's actually been pretty steady this afternoon and did well down in DC.

40/70 Benchmark
This is pretty close to what's going to be happening later JMHO. People need to relax and not worry about the NAM. Wow..that looks great, too.
CT Rain
The better lift I think will come with that heavier stuff to the south. IR loop shows that really well. NW areas are doing ok with mid level lift. Most of SNE is going to have trouble until the stuff south of LI comes north.

I just said essentially the same thing a few posts back. Seems there's a few inches in there for southern areas of NNE.
weatherwiz
The better lift I think will come with that heavier stuff to the south. Yup! It would have been nice to have some better lift now but that stuff coming means business and we should perform quite well. I went 6-12'' for this area but I'll say 7.5 to 8.5'' IMBY. weatherMA
Man, Im really thinking about trying to get 3-4 hours of sleep, Im pretty tired. The radar looks pretty damn good for later. I dont want to risk falling asleep during the heavier stuff, but I dont want to miss it either. Will, what do you think for the timing of the heaviest stuff? It needs to start legitimately reaching the ground first.

Kbosch
It's been an incredible year, but being awake for what is coming at us as it just gets to LI...I don't know if I have been more excited. CT Rain
Getting better here now. Better snow growth. Colder cloud tops moving in. Should improve from here. Too bad we lost an hour though.

Seems to be settling around this position..fear would be a tick SE the further NE you go in RUC fashion but for right now it seems to be stable.
