What would it look like? The last "Little Ice Age" lasted from roughly 1300 - 1850. What it was called was likely far more severe than what it was...New York City winters were more like those common today in northern Connecticut...Boston winters were more like the present day Portland, Maine winter. Perhaps the Mississippi freezing again in New Orleans. And people running around explaining that the reason it feels so cold is that the planet is WARMING!!! There is a lot of evidence that we are running into a period of one low solar cycle (11 yrs) and likely 2 or 3 low solar cycles spanning two or three decades. In the 1600's it lasted for about a century, although it is equally likely to recover in 2 or 3 solar cycles. We don't fully know what would trigger a full glaciation period.
