IrishRob17
So any hope for atleast 3-6" later on tonight? Sure there is, I'm hoping for a bust with more though Even if this isn't our storm it looks like we have two clippers now, one Fri and one Sat and maybe another coastal to track early next week. Radders
LOL at the subtitle of this thread.. Fringe is the word of the day.. Hopefully we see a bust in the right direction later tonight. JMA is the model to hug.
snywx
I guess we really cant complain since we are above normal for the date but it does hurt to see storm after storm hit southern areas while an amazing precip gradient gives us the shaft. It seems like the low might be closer to the coast than expected but we've heard that before, what it means for us remains to be seen.
Radders
I have noticed that in the past storm, where Albany has been on the fringe, they have ended up doing quite well, as the storm jogs west last minute, so perhaps we will get a nice surprise.. IrishRob17
A more serious light snow has started here, if that makes any sense. I think the radar is starting to fill in nicely, who do you guys think?

Precip looks to get shunted anywhere north of I-

I've also be watching the second batch to the south and west to see how far north it moves.

IrishRob17
This is similar to what I saw on that HRRR, not sure how/if the two models are related. Snow quickly picked up here in Goshen, close to moderate but not much stickage as yet

The usual suspects are getting smoked now. Along the thruway right and left. I just looked outside here in Rockland, mod snow now but temps appear to be marginal so its not accumulating from what I can see in southern Rockland. TJay
I know it won't last but it's ripping snow here right now. Is it bulding up or is it melting rob? Looks like the southern half of Jersey, Philly on south and west is rain now

IrishRob17
Is it bulding up or is it melting rob? Main Street is just wet, a little white on the shoulders. It's sticking well to the snowpack but that's about it so far. It's back to light snow now.
Radders
Coming down pretty heavy here now, but not expecting to last too long..
xram
Was heavy a few minutes ago, but now has lightened up. I would say a 1/4" inch and it is sticking to the roads.
TJay
This might be nit picking but nether the 12Z NAM or GFS had the western/northern extent of the precip quite right in PA. The times don't exactly match but these frames of the models mark the most north/west position of the precip field

Regardless I dont think many if any models pegged NYC to receive 3-5" before the main event..

Granted that's a weenie radar and it contains virga but ... like I said it might be nitpicking. Even though I refuse to give the JMA any props the models busted for sure with handleing the morning dump to our south Look at the snow report icons in this image, I didnt check every one but a lot of 4 -5 inch reports are in there
Logan11
I'm down in Riverhead now...leaving for home soon. FZRAPL here...snow mixed when it gets heavier. They have about three inches of wet snow. So I'll drive through the snow from NYC north and then apparently out of it as I get above the Mid HV. Though radar looks more impressive.... My only is concern is when the coastal gets going all that precip in PA will collapse quickly toward the developing low..
