1052 PM EST WED JAN 26 2011

...AN AREA OF HEAVY SNOW WITH ISOLATED THUNDER CONTINUES TO

POUND THE REGION...

AT 1050 PM, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ALONG WITH

SURFACE REPORTS CONTINUES TO TRACK AN AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY

SNOW ALONG THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR. THIS AREA IS GRADUALLY

SHIFTING MORE INTO NEW JERSEY. THE SNOWFALL RATES WITHIN THIS AREA

ARE MOSTLY BETWEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. RECENT SPOTTER REPORTS

INDICATED THAT IN THE MOST INTENSE PART OF THE BAND, SNOWFALL

RATES HAVE REACHED 3 INCHES PER HOUR. THESE RATES WILL

SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE VISIBILITIES TO ONE HALF OF A MILE OR

LESS. IN ADDITION, THESE ENHANCED SNOWFALL RATES WILL CONTINUE TO

MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR PLOWING CREWS AS ACCUMULATIONS ARE VERY

QUICK. NORTHERLY WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO UP 35 MPH WILL

CAUSE SOME BLOWING SNOW ESPECIALLY ACROSS OPEN AREAS.

ROADWAYS CONTINUE TO BE VERY HAZARDOUS ACROSS THE AREA. THE

ENHANCED BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL GRADUALLY PIVOT FROM WEST TO

EAST THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENING AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT

HOURS. IT IS BEST TO STAY INDOORS AND NOT TO TRAVEL UNLESS IT IS

ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

I'd say I have about 11" total - 4 from earlier and 7 from tonight. Coming down hard now.

I was waiting to hear from someone like you.......

I had 5" this morning and measured (roughly) 8.5" around 10:15pm =13.5"

I see PHI snow reports showed Pottstown at 13" around 10pm.

So overall, we seem to be in the ballpark.

Wow. In havertown. I saw two big flashes of light from my diningroom so I went outside and then another one lit up the sky followed by a low BOOM. wasn't sure if it was lightning/thunder or something else. the explosion sounded strange...can anyone in Delco confirm this? didn't expect to see lightning at that point. happened about 10 minutes ago. Dumping snow out there! looks like the Feb storms from last year when looking at the shrubs and trees...they are getting hammered.

I was out there in the elements.. Trying to film all this heavy snow.. Man, the wind, heavy snow. Amazing out there. Its like a raging blizzard. This band is easily putting down 3 to 4 inches an our. Another band is coming down from the northwest of Philly.

Estimating amounts now easily 7 inches.. Definitely will reach over a foot here in Voorhees, NJ.

Even had a flash a lightning and loud thunder about 15 minutes ago. Most intense snow I've seen in years. This storm has to be right up there from what I've seen so far this season. Amazing stuff..
