...AN AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WITH ISOLATED THUNDER

CONTINUES TO SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT THE REGION...

AT 925 PM, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ALONG WITH

SURFACE REPORTS CONTINUES TO TRACK AN AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY

SNOW ALONG THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR. THE SNOWFALL RATES WITHIN

THIS AREA ARE BETWEEN 1 TO AS MUCH AS 2 INCHES PER HOUR. THESE

RATES WILL SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE VISIBILITIES TO ONE HALF OF A

MILE OR LESS. IN ADDITION, THESE ENHANCED SNOWFALL RATES WILL MAKE

IT DIFFICULT FOR PLOWING CREWS AS ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE QUICK.

NORTHERLY WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH WILL CAUSE SOME

BLOWING SNOW ESPECIALLY ACROSS OPEN AREAS.

ROADWAYS ARE VERY HAZARDOUS ACROSS THE AREA, AND WILL CONTINUE TO

BE SO AS THE ENHANCED BAND OF HEAVY SNOW GRADUALLY PIVOTS FROM

WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENING AND INTO THE

OVERNIGHT HOURS. IT IS BEST TO STAY INDOORS AND NOT TO TRAVEL

UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Heaviest snow of the storm - almost as heavy as the 12/26 blizzard - simply pouring snow out there at about 2" per hour rates. Could easily pick up 8" or more tonight at this rate on top of our 5.5" form part 1 and the 2" or so that have fallen since then. Awe inspiring out there - about to go for a shovel at halftime of the RU-Cincy hoops game (we're actually up 4 near the end of the first half on the road - Mike Rice will be the saviour of RU hoops).
