JTA66...that Feb 2006 storm is the last time before tonight that I recall seeing thundersnow. There had to be at least 8 to maybe 12 lightning/thunder episodes during the heavy snow blitz with that storm. I was up all night posting at Eastern with all the other late-night snow freaks.

As for tonight, nice combo of heavy snow and wind!

JTA66...you must have slept through the Feb 11-12 storm of 2006. Lots of thundersnow with that one between 1 AM and 5 AM.

Anyway...still ripping snow in Harleysville PA at 7:15 PM. About 1.5 inches with Round 2.

John, I remember 2 episodes of Thundersnow in the Feb 12, 2006 storm. Both early in the AM, when I was in bed, but I heard the Thunder clearly.

I have had 3 so far in this storm, which makes this the most Thundersnow/sleet episodes I have ever observed in one storm.

And at a time when I could actually observe the flash!

I remember isolated episodes in storms in 1993, 1987 and in 1966. Probably a couple others in there, but none that I can recall.

None that I recall during the 96 blizzard.

30.7 here now with heavy snow...almost an inch has fallen since the full changeover at about 6:50 pm.

Hi neighbor. BTW Comcast now has a 24 hour traffic channel with cams from all over the Del. Valley. In Phila it's channel 253

Thanks for that. Turned it on and saw a view of southbound 322 and it was a blur (snow covering the camera). :lmao:

Blizzard-like winds out of the NW

Vis 1/4 mile with blowing snow

Temp 30.4 F

Piling up like mad!!! :pepsi:

My Bucket List is off to a rip roarin' start in 2011. Check these two accomplishments from my top 50:

#45: Catch a snapper and hand it to a chef to be cooked for my dinner in Jamaica. Check.

#32: Drink a pint of Sasquatch beer purchased in a growler from the Iron Hill Brewery in Media while sitting in my yard in an Adirondack chair during the middle of some of the most RE-diculous snow I've ever seen. Check as of 5 minutes ago.

2011 is going to rule for me.
