SmokeEater
Feel sorry for Glenn, that was a terrible segue. But he discussed it well. Has I-95 in 8-12" bullseye, 6-10" around. Hinted at more than 8-12 It's still unthinkable to me that all that is going to fall in less then 12 hours. The rates we see tonight, may be something we haven't seen in a long time. battlebrick
Heavy Snow now in central Morris County.. fairly large flakes coming down. I'd estimate around 3-4 inches right now. 27 degrees, never went above freezing since start of storm.

Blizzard-on-GFS
GFS coming in much wetter for the area. Much larger area of precip as well! Yeah but being that mesoscale banding is taking place, the GFS's lower resolution puts it at a great disadvantage. I'd go with the NAM right now. jvan
Hey guys...i'm new to the boards. I used to live in the Quakertown area in Bucks County and moved out west to Seattle. I must say, even though I have awesome mountains nearby that can get dumped on in the winter, I do miss the winters in the NorthEast. Seattle has had 1 good event so far this winter back in November and this week is sunny and in the 50's. Jealousy doesn't begin to describe how I feel. You guys have had quite a few blockbuster winters since I left 5 years ago and this one is turning out to be another one. I was curious as to how much snow is on the ground in the Philadelphia area as of today? I know you are expecting another wallop tonight with a potential foot of new snow. Please keep posting pics for those of us who are snow deprived to drool over. Thanks!

Elko gets more snow overall than Seattle (and more than back home) but we just don't get these kind of big dynamic juicy storms...
