weatherwiz
My first call from yesterday may not be *that* bad...except the 12-18'' contour I had in NE MA was a bit too much.
weathafella
And finally as the storm has been going on for 8-10 hours the GFS finally gets it lol.. Let's call a spade a spade. Euro took a huge dump with this event....misguidance it was. NAM/GFS led the way. Plain and simple.
mattb65
BOX says No Snow for You! Jeez they sure are changing their maps a lot this afternoon - i bet we get at least 2 more changes before 1 am. On the plus side it's nice to see them up their accum maxes even if they have them shifting south and east.

Logan11
I'm counting on the 250 mile eastward correction for next weeks cutter. Finally a hit for ENY. LOL I'm referring to the 0Z ECMWF...didn't see 12Z down here on eastern LI. Let's call a spade a spade. Euro took a huge dump with this event....misguidance it was. NAM/GFS led the way. I don't agree with that. Yes the Euro was not correct with the MECS...but the GFS for many days were totally OTS... How can you POSSIBLY say they led the way? CT Rain
Yeah I like that inflow arm. It looks like it wants to come across sne, I just hope it doesn't translate too far east at the same time. I think with that inflow coupled with confluence to the NW ahead of the northern stream s/w things are going to absolutely rip over SNE. I really could see HVN getting 6" or a foot! weathafella
Nice dendrites here but still snowing lightly...vis maybe 1-1.5 miles. Good looking radar/sat. Anyone see the thunder obs from DCA about an hour ago? This thing is getting its act together now.
Logan11
Remember the original Euro forecast was for a low through BGM LOL The WNY weenies were all excited. mattlacroix4
Holy GFS, thanks buddy for bringing me back in the game. Looking more and more like a classic setup for south and eastern NE. .5 inches all the way to Portland, ME

How can you POSSIBLY say they led the way? It has not been OTS for about 2-3 days now. But actually NAM pointed out the (what we thought was) convective feedback (that worked out). Amazing coup for them imho.

weathafella
Remember the original Euro forecast was for a low through BGM LOL The WNY weenies were all excited. Yes but that was way beyond 5 days so it shouldn't be counted against them. The 3-4 day progs this time had troubles.

dan11295
Not that I really by that QPF though. 18z models are known for being overjuiced...

I don't think you'd find many people that would agree with that..other than the NAM was right about splitting into 2 pieces. Fact is none of the models did well..but I certainly wouldn't say the GFS /NAm were better than the Euro which showed a hit from the get go..just too much of a hit
weathafella
GFS gives BOS 8-12 easily. Not sure I buy that but radar looks nice. May be not much sleep tonight...
