Mr. Windcredible!
Hmmm, agreed. Light snow now. Nice information on the history you posted. I wish I had all the BDR data. We were close to 70 if not more in 95-96 (I was 10 and have always lived in north Stratford in different homes). check this site: http://climate.usurf.usu.edu/products/data.php pan the map east and zoom into CT. Past and current COOP stations will show up. Looks like the airport is on there and active...as well as one further north at Stevenson Dam that is active. Then you can download the raw data. If they're regularly reporting snowfall, you can make a nice climatology out of it. That's what I did with the Westbrook data.
MJHUB
BOX definatly going all in with those new totals, Seekonk can't get into that 11' spot lol. Awfully spotty with those 11 inch amouts tho, southern RI and Taunton area don't know how its not more of a band then pockets.
TheBudMan
Hey I took that back. Def a new found respect for him. He's slacked the last few winters but man he really nailed this one for areas NW of Boston If you really can't realize he's one of the best (top 3-4) on air mets then you need to step back and watch for awhile more....once he threw water Sunday night I started getting real nervous
Clinch Leatherwood
may have mixed with a bit of sleet 10 or 15 minutes ago but no doubt all snow and coming down a good clip. haven't measured but eyeballing about 1" Still some snow mixed here, but mainly other than snow. http://www.capecodlivecam.com/sagamore.shtml This time it's not just right next to the water either, http://www.capecodlivecam.com/bourne.shtml I'm probably thinking 4-8" here picking up another 3-7, little worired about a protracted mix well into the night. Bostonseminole
a few flakes here and there here.. I see the moisture moving north now.. could mean better things soon.
Zeus
Actual snow (as opposed to the flakes you had to remain still and squint to see) have begun in Waltham. Same in Boston, my spies report. Hope? None.
dryslot
was out for a while and just came back in and looked at the radar...actually is looking good in PA and NYS. It is building and moving n and nne. That stuff is going to come over SNE and maybe CNE as it looks to me. WNE as well. I'm a weenie and I have weenie glasses on but what am I missing? If I knew nothing about what the models have been saying I would look at that and think a NE snowstorm was on the way...and not just SNE. Tubes said something about the northern stream phasing in...is that happening? Here Mark, Have a handfull, I have been handing them out like Halloween candy up this way today.... mattb65
Taunton just... upped the totals, even for BOS. Their new map ... doesn't seem possible. Look at the radar to our west, looks pretty freaking good to me but I'm a weenie so what do I know?
Ginx snewx
We might be getting into a "lull" soon. Its barely spitting snow in Shelton now From the NYC thread Northern stream is running up against a brick wall it seems, West Virgian edge with some back building. Something to watch to see if the ULL rotates further North than progged, this is the ultimate now cast especially for Pike Areas
subdude
Welcome to NNE 2010, We watched 6 storms do this last year up here, Thats why it no longer bothers me when it happens, You never like it but its easier to blow off when you been slapped multiple times, There is always another one........ Oh ya, you folks up there had it rough last season, thx for the words of encouragement.
Kbosch
check this site: http://climate.usurf...oducts/data.php pan the map east and zoom into CT. Past and current COOP stations will show up. If they're regularly reporting snowfall, you can make a nice climatology out of it. That's what I did with the Westbrook data. Oh wow! Thank you so much, that is an awesome link. I just downloaded it all for BDR and will do more when it's not snowing. This will be very helpful for entertainment and work purposes. As you can imagine BDR usually comes up short of me, mostly because they're in the middle of Great Meadows Marsh, but it will be a tremendous help to see this over time for all of the CT stations. I'm aiming (sometime soon enough) to start extensive climatological and ornithological comparisons in CT. Both fields have tremendous experts doing great work in CT, but they are often not looked at together in avian conservation. Light snow, struggling to keep itself from a flurry, continues. Radar looks like dry air is getting us again.

MarkO
Picked up my daughter from school and was greeted with flurries. Figured it wouldn't take much as the lower levels are so moist. Freezing fog last night made my area look like 4000' up.
Clinch Leatherwood
I wonder if Wareham is mixing..(near 495 / 25 E intersection) I wont be back until later. The change here coincided with the collapse seen on the radar. Precip just fell apart for a bit. As it works back n we seem to be getting more snow. Ginx snewx
Does it appear that the main event seems like it wants to capture the initial wave running through CT, RI and SE MA??? If that were to happen, would that slow the main event? That is just basically Warm Air Advection snow from the main axis. My thoughts and it is probably better news for others than me but this puppy will end up further north than progged.

#NoPoles
Look at the radar to our west, looks pretty freaking good to me but I'm a weenie so what do I know? looks like the first batch is has a northward vector...but that second batch, the one that's supposed to get into Mass. looks like it's progressing due east...if it stays on that course, no snow for Mass. ORH_wxman
Ray gets ~8inches...why the melt down? He doesn't believe he's going to get half that. Its a tough call. I could see him getting 7 or 8" or only 3"
weatherMA
Very light snow has commenced here here at 26F. They still havent cancelled my track meet and Im being forced to go. Im still hopin they cancel it. I mean, its going to go to almost 10pm and multiple schools will have to drive 30 miles home after it. It would be the smart thing to do. But who knows....
Ginx snewx
Ray gets ~8inches...why the melt down? To much model watching not enough real time observation. Critical time is right now to watch the progression of the ULL and the explosion of a comma head.
