WhiteoutWX
just had one heck of a gust trees bent way over this could get real bad later today Haven't seen anything too bad yet here in the west end. Surprised there are already so many power outages.
Kevin Druff
Haven't seen anything too bad yet here in the west end. Surprised there are already so many power outages. Pretty gusty out here now. Rain pretty good so far... 1" and counting. Also, looking at the radar scan, I'm not sure how this thing moves well to the east of VB without taking a hard right soon. Looks to me as if it will go right over the Beach and just to the east of Norfolk.

I'm just on the other side of the river from Midlo, maybe 10 miles as the crow flies and not a flicker.

RIC Airport
Another VERY heavy rain band moving west into eastern parts of the area........2" of rain officially at RIC....winds still gusting around 50mph.
RIC Airport
Heaviest rains coming MUCH farther inland than many people were saying. Interior parts of eastern and SE VA will be the winners here, not along the immediate coast. Even FVX getting a lot of rain.

Kevin Druff
my neighborhood is getting its azz handed to them. trees down on cars, houses, roads, powerlines I sit at the bottom of a hill that rises to my north and has protected us from real damage. Really grateful foe that today. Power flicked off earlier when I mentioned it, but that flicker was it. Rock solid the rest of the day.

Kevin Druff
Winds have died considerably the past hour. Strange. You can definitely see the western edge starting to die down on radar. I believe the worst of it for us in Western Henrico is over. Still windy and rainy for a few hours, but not like it was earlier around 3-5 or so. Patreeot
The wind has definitely died down, but still getting heavier gusts. Definitely an overperforming storm. At last check the metro area had over 358,000 customers without power compared to 366,000 that Isabel had.
