Brian5671
JMA has 1.00-1.25 for the area. http://grib2.com/jma...PRECIP_48HR.gif JMA seems to be the furthest NW with the precip shield--gives hope to those on the other side of the sharp cutoff shown on other models... A-L-E-X
alex- how the hell did we just get a mere 4 mins of moderate snow from that big band??? we live in snow hell! lol its a curse either way-- if we had gotten into it, it would have changed over to sleet after we got the heavy snow. I think that would have been a good tradeoff. Anything but rain!

jm1220
Youre back home? No, I called home a while ago and heard about the huge flakes. I'd have to imagine sleet is right on the doorstep if it isn't sleet now.

jm1220
Its basically doing nothing right now. Just a few flurries. The same thing happened to me in State College during the VD 2007 storm. The snowflakes all of a sudden became massive and aggregated flakes, and the intensity increased pretty dramatically. All of a sudden, it turned to a driving sleet and stayed that way the rest of the night. It turned the ~11" of snow/sleet we had into a very thick mess.
