Stormlover74
At this point I wouldn't count anything out Since I have a large email list for weather info, have friends in places like Lansdale, PA, Philly, Cherry Hill, New Hope, etc., who are all reporting 4-5" of snow on the ground and it's still coming down. Only glanced at the Philly obs thread, but looks similar. Up to about 3" here in Metuchen and it's ripping. Could easily see 4-5" here from part 1. Any chance it just continues? My gf who was supposed to fly out of lga got her flight canceled. She moved up the flight from tom morn based on my advice. I can't believe how horrible these models are....this is a disaster. Sirens blaring everywhere on my walk to the train

SnowGoose69
The amazing thing is this storm found a way to screw DC again this year...I just knew some way or another this area would make a run at or outdo them down there.
ace0927
NWS updated for NYC 3-5 today and 4-8 tonight. another storm tht this kinda reminds me of is Dec 20 1995...any mets want to chime in on this? gkrangers
RGEM has a very tight cutoff on the northwest side. It looks like NYC gets anywhere from 22-30mm total (.9 to 1.2"), less northwestern side of town and more southeastern side of town.

Parts of LI are over 35mm. maybe my initial ideas werent so wrong after all. this will almost definitely be our second biggest of the year and for areas that didnt receive 30" on dec 26 (i only got 18 or so) this MIGHT come come close. for me 14-16" will be close...not for earthlight (obviously) i was always thinking/hoping for 8-12" for the second phase of the system, now that we are a lock to get 3-5" of so from the front end (which was non existent 6 hours ago)....im liking where we stand....just hope we dont get effed on the second part ( i always have to throw in a bit of negativity)
