frostbite_falls
32.5 in Elkton, per my weather station. just a light mist right now .Winds have picked up a bit. Any other North EAstern MD people in here? If so what are you seeing? I'm a bit south and west of you, but somewhat close--right at freezing here, precip picking up and changing over from mostly rain to sleet with a few flakes occasionally mixed in. That combined with radar makes me think we're in a sweet spot for changeover just as the good precip/high QPF arrives.
jpollak92
there should be some pivot as the upper low rounds the bend.. dc northeast probably the best odds It looks to me as though it's pivoting and setting up the heaviest band right over DC...that's just what I'm seeing with my untrained eyes though. mitchnick
just about all the models were advertising BWI switching at or right after 5PM and I'm now almost all sleet waiting for snow to enter the picture right on time <JI> I hate wasting the qpf though <JI>
thesnowsknows
Glad someone had the guts to ask! back edge seems to be jumping faster than anticipated. Probably will cut down on totals
Ravenmaniac
Looks like we'll lose close to a 1/4 inch as rain with this, but hopefully rates will still get us into the 6-10 inch for snow. Thunder sleet in Columbia.
Jebman
30 degrees and pouring snow under a stationary yellow band. Flakes are drier now and fluffier. I have at least an inch of snow, probably more. Grass is gonna get all covered up later on for the first time this winter.

jpljr77
I can corroborate that, same thing where I'm at in Silver Spring (not far from Rock Creek Park/Chevy Chase, about a mile west of Colesville Rd.). Just took a Jebwalk and took a few pictures...moderate to heavy snow, large flakes, turning white (though it's kind of slushy) everywhere right now. Yup. Big, fat flakes...coming down very hard. It's a very handsome snow. Worth it.
