MD Snow
quick question...with temps at 33 and 34 at Navel Academy and BWI and DP's at 26 wouldn't that mean temps should drop back to 30-32 at the onset of precip?

Ellinwood
Good morning everyone! Interesting radar... Looking at the 6-hour precip. on the 00z models, it appears that the QPF from the models are not north enough compared to the radar. Rain and snow up into the middle of Indiana and Ohio, which on the models was supposed to be a decent distance further south. The southern edge of the ULL precip. is looking good so far. mitchnick
actually, looks like the u/l low just got a kick in the butt from the northern energy and has readjusted to a more Easterly movement http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/PCPN/DATA/RT/na-wv-loop.html

haudidoody
Substantial light snow has just started with visibility dropping and Capitol Building 5 miles away disappearing. Traffic cameras show some accumulations now south of town. I wouldn't be surprised to see DCA report SN next hour as were getting some nice rates; already getting accumulations here. real
Steady light snow in northwest dc. Could be touch of sleet but most of all it seems to be starting to stick to grass and maybe even sidewalks but too early tell for sure
DCAWx
No mixing so far at DCA. Snow flakes are small/lighter then what was expected with the temp @ 35F. I think that bodes well for snow ratios! Vis droping fast (1 3/4SM)!!!
