Clinch Leatherwood
It's crazy to me that all these cuts on totals by local mets due to meso models on the edge of their best range while the higher verification intl models for this time range are keeping steady with heavy heavy qpf and a sensible wx solution. Can't wait to see what the euro does The GGEM/NOGAPS/UKMET aren't all that good. The Euro is 12 hours old, I'm sure if it held serve entirely totals would change up again. CoastalWx
While we're waiting for the Euro, here is the GGEM at 42h (not seen on the EC site) to get a better feel for the mid-level features Classic for my banding fetish.

Is this what the euro is depicting? Also do you think there will be a deform band setting up well NW of the low that could help out s vt and s NH? Is this a setup where there would be one? Unless I'm reading the maps wrong, those 3 models looked like absolutely massive hits to me >12" in boston (if you account for the bias in the NOGAPS). What makes you say they aren't that good? Tropopause_Fold
i'm going to do the preemptive to save whoever wants to chuck one at this comment... it's not my board, but i wish folks could tone down the tv met, local nws office, private met (be it JB/DT whoever) discussion stuff. if the person isn't here to defend their thinking, it kinda blows to call him/her an idiot, worst at their job, gfs hugger, etc. etc. posting their forecast is one thing, but then calling them out, saying they are dumb or whatnot is unnecessary. you'd be surprised who knows who around here. just my $.02 on the matter and i'm sure it won't prevent it in the future. Agreed, the TV met bashing is getting really old. If they are going to disagree with eh forecast do it in an adult manner instead of being a huge weenie about it. H2Otown_WX
What's up with the GFS lacking precip. on the cold side of the storm anyway? Lack of mid-level low development?
#NoPoles
is there any validity in the reasoning that the northern stream energy could boot the southern stream out to sea? the local mets wouldn't decide to lower totals if they didn't see something that was making them nervous... Not really, 8-12 and 4-8 NW right on the edge of Will'ish area. I just don't think it's needed. Sure we can debate why Barry is a no go but darn he REALLY explained his thoughts...if hes wrong who cares... The ARW from the other thread. HoarfrostHubb
Anyone know which models benefit from that extra flight that they took into the GOM?
