Lets keep the focus on this storm, for now and enjoy what we have!

I'm currently looking at radar and water vapor out of the Mid Atlantic and I must remark how impressed I am. The cloud tops are cooling at a phenomenal rate over West Virginia and western Virginia. Also, if you take a look at this radar loop (http://radar.weather...s/full_loop.php) you will note a curvature to the precipitation shield. This is a classic signal for significant east coast cyclogenesis. It's going to get really fun for the southern tier counties over the next 10 - 15 hours! In fact, I would not be surprise if cities like Gettysburg, York, Harrisburg Lancaster and Coatesville see some thundersnow! :snowing:

Yeah, agreed....sorry.

For those of us in "true" Central PA (geographically speaking), how's that shaping up for this region (UNV, Clearfield, IPT)?

Interesting on the thundersnow - I saw reports of lightning in VA.

Excellent point, I was looking at the radar and that bending looks classic for our area, just hope we get some thundersnow, haven't had any since I was a kid.Snowman.gifthumbsupsmileyanim.gif

It hasn't once stopped snowing in Harrisburg. It's been light, but never stopped.

If the heavier bands will be here in 2 or so hours, getting home is going to be an absolute nightmare. Hell getting HERE this morning was harrowing - some idiot in front of me took a corner going probably 20 and his car ended up bouncing off a telephone pole into a pretty large ditch on Chambers Hill Road.

Thundersnow? Let's do this!

(btw I third calling this storm PSUHazletonWx: Revenge)

Light flurries beginning here in State College (or more specifically 4th floor of the Walker Building haha). Looks to just increase in intensity for quite some time. Radar is filling in nicely in coverage and I expect in intensity too. :snowman:

Here is a good close-up radar for CPA, especially near State College:

So that's what that was? I drove past the barricade and wondered what lunatic did what.

Talking about next week? If it happens that way, we need to call it The Interior Strikes Back.
