HIPPYVALLEY
Much different at H5. GFS sends out a weak low, but now the trough in the west amplifies and tries to develop another low (which would be the bigger one) right over srn ct and down through Long Island. W. NE special? CoastalWx
Looks like parts of sne would see a little light swn or flurries on T-Day. All that energy hanging back looks to want to develop another low down the coast, but may be a little too late.DC area gets a little light snow on this run. dryslot
It is, but a much more interesting scenario on this run. It is but it also could be a good thing down the road as we are still outside of a locked solution, It is colder for more on this run which would lead to more frozen for sure but it looks like the gfs wants to develop the second wave once offshore rather then the lead piece.. dryslot
One thing we can't dispute is the cold that is shown on this run thats for sure...
MaineJayhawk
Slap me with a weenie tag if you must, but I like an OTS solution at this point. I'll quote Kevin 3:12. Sundog
There's going to be some good lake effect for the eastern lakes next weekend. The snow belts will do well it seems.

Well as usual, we'll see what the euro does. It was a big shift at H5, and models are still stuggling with the details. It's one of those things where a shift in some vort lobe in southern Canada can have big downstream effects...either good or bad.

I think that this is a more logical solution here though then trying to drive a low into the great lakes with all the blocking over greenland, There does look to be plenty of potential after regardless of the outcome of turkey day.. CoastalWx
Nice reinforcing cold shot in Canada on the gfs ensembles towards the end. Kind if an interesting pattern in that heights lower a bit in the west, but the orientation of the height lines are nw-se, so no real Pacific air gets into the mix.
