I know its terrible out, but if we get some snow from now until Christmas, it'll be a memory.

I think we'll at least be tracking some squalls and robust snow showers on Tuesday for some of the area. I kind of like the odds of this lingering cold just a matter of time before we have a legit storm threat. Queue in Bing Crosby I'm dreaming of a.........

GFS didnt do much with the (12/22 - 12/24) threat.

Looks like Wes is starting to get rather interested-- a good sign!

This is from the WOOF thread:

Wes said:

folks reading this thread need to know that this is real close to happening but we are NOT quite there yet

there could be a point soon where all or some of the operational Models turns very Bullish on a secs OR mecs event real soon

ensembles might be getting there also.  At this point in time, we shouldnt care much about the OP GFS.  If it showed a storm right now, it would probably morph into a rainstorm later on anyway lol.

Winds picked up here over the last 20 minutes or so with estimated gusts to around 45 mph with the back edge of the rain moving through.

I'm somewhat surprised that there was no wind advisory issued. Some of the gusts here associated with the convective cells seem to meet the criteria.

Well OKX issued one, just for E LI & SE CT. They should have issued it for areas further W but instead put out an SWS regarding the winds associated with heavier rainfall.

Yeah, it was funny they did that while JFK was having a 40 mph wind gust and Montauk's winds were around 20
