I am looking to a little forward to a sunny warmer weekend, this past event was a few snow flurries and around .5 of rain so warm and sunny is ok for a few days!:weight_lift:

Agree- went for a nice walk today, this should be a fantastic weekend. When you get older, cold air is not as exciting as it used to be. I love sunny crisp days in the 50s and 60s in the winter..

I agree w/ this Cheez, 30 degrees got a lot colder when I turned 40. This weekend is going to be awesome though!

Remember last friday the storm was going to be perfect for this week and we know how that turned out..All I saying is don't give up so quickly .It's still 4 to 5 days out and the way the models have been all over the place it still can work out.

I know what you saying, Just 3 or 4 degrees lower and we're in a major ICE STORM. I know how sneaky CAD can be, it's messed up a many forecast over the years, CAD are always under predicted so we'll see. :maprain: But I feel this one will be a cold rain.

I guess I am in the minority with not wanting the warm up :)

What if the warm-up brought some svr potential on the lee side, then would you be interested?

While I am not a fan of JB, only interested in the Euro maps overthere, he stated today this has the potential to be the worst false spring in memory for the SE, that reaks of svr imo... :twister:

Sorry I can't post it as there are some copyright issues with the inaccuwx pro stuff. To be honest, I hardly ever check his stuff out, only use the site for the Euro maps. A member mentioned something today about him referencing spring so I read his blog post. In typical JB fashion, he pulls the “never in memory” card as he does all too often in the extended. He basically said we are in for a false spring, with the second part of Feb being warmer here, with the cold shifted to the Pac NW and NE, but March and April are likely to see major shifts in terms of temps, which in my book screams SVR.

60's are great in May and June...just not in January ^_^

The Villages sounds nice...J/K

Seriously, I like winter weather like everyone else here but a short little warm up does me good also. I start getting a little cabin fever when it's cold like it has been this winter. I'm an avid cyclist during the warm months and try to keep in shape as much as possible during winter but this winter has been tough to get any riding in. So this weekend I'm hitting the roads and getting some much needed yard work done. It's a good weekend for that since there's no football on and the wife will be happy I'm doing some stuff around the house instead of reading this board all weekend. I'm going to get as many brownie points as possible just incase that southwest upper low turns out to be something interesting.

Cycling is my business...I have a Training Center in Charlotte that caters to cyclists and multisport athletes. I am getting cabin fever major. My clients are. Staff are. Give us some 65 degree and then flip to CAD and southern runners. Today was awesome. Wind in the face, cool but tolerable. Give us 3 more days of it to get us out of the funk...then #SNOmg

Maybe you coasties (& coastal plains brethern) can squeeze one out right after the lakes cutter next week. This has been modeled by gfs consistently. Not quite there yet, but it wouldnt take to much more wiggling to work things out. Need the trough to sharpen up more . stays to posotive leaning after the lakes cutter. If it could sharpen up quicker, you just never know.
