baroclinic_instability
I believe NCEP is in Maryland--so it very well may be due to all the power outages associated with the EC thundersnowbomb. They could be having dissemination issues right now as a result--and top priority customers get the data first.

baroclinic_instability
yeah I believe at least 300,000 are without power in that area, maybe more. Pretty nasty out there. Some seriously moisture laden cement snow--they are lucky it was a quick hitter. If that lasted longer they would have been completely crippled. wisconsinwx
Just where we want it on the GFS. Yeah, this could well play out very similar to the December monster storm, hopefully sans the negative Lake Michigan effect.
Harry
Well, at least is something. I'll take that at this point. It is closer but because of how slow it moves everything out of the sw it misses the phase and thus forced to take the southern route. Positive is it did go slightly more towards the euro/nam camp and nor did we see a hard cutter.
Hoosier
Surface low is in central Georgia at 156 hours. Agree with others though that the trend is the bigger story.

Moneyman
Meh, this won't be a coastal. Euro will show why it's the king in about an hour. GEM/UKIE should be out soon. Plus having the GFS showing a lake cutter would be bad, keep it suppresed for another 36-48 hrs, then it will bow down to the king.
