...NOTE CORRECTION TO THE YEAR OF THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL ON RECORD...

A RECORD SNOWFALL OF 13.4 INCH(ES) WAS SET AT NORFOLK VA AS OF 7 PM
EST TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 5 INCHES SET IN 2004.

THIS MAKES THE STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL SO FAR AT NORFOLK 14.2 INCHES.
THIS IS THE THIRD HEAVIEST SNOWSTORM ON RECORD FOR NORFOLK. THE
PREVIOUS RECORDS WERE 18.6 INCHES DECEMBER 27 AND 28 IN 1892 AND
15.4 INCHES ON FEB 17 THROUGH 19 IN 1989.

THIS WILL BE UPDATED AFTER THE FINAL SNOWFALL WITH THIS EVENT IS
TALLIED.

Alright congrats hr and vb. Now its time for Ric's airport 12+ storm! Heh. Got to get through the warm this week.

I'll take it, so long as the gradient isn't as tight as this one! I'd love another big snow fall. However, I must confess that if I nickel and dime my way to 15" or 20" this winter, I'll be pretty happy with that, too.

Unofficially as the final totals aren't in yet....December 2010 will rank as the 6th snowiest December on record for RIC. Also, this storm is the 5th official 6" plus storm since March 2009.

I will wait to see where ORF ranks....:arrowhead::thumbsup:

And to think, we sat at a table just a few short years ago discussing how RIC may never see a 6" storm again arrowheadsmiley.png
