Guest someguy
The 12:54am snowdepth out of RIC came out and it's at 3". http://weather.noaa....rrent/KRIC.html I think we are off to a good start....could certainly be looking at a 6" storm which would make 5 such events in less than 2 years. again I dont get NWSFO AKQ zones forecast at all.. read this ... and tell me what it says ... is this an additonal 2-4" or is this totoal 2 to 4"? HENRICO- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...RICHMOND 347 AM EST SUN DEC 26 2010 ..WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING TODAY SNOW. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 INCHES. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTH WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH. CHANCE OF SNOW NEAR 100 PERCENT. TONIGHT...CLOUDY. SNOW EARLY IN THE EVENING THEN A CHANCE OF SNOW LATE IN THE EVENING. A CHANCE OF FLURRIES AFTER MIDNIGHT. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 INCHES. LOWS IN THE LOWER 20S. NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH. CHANCE OF SNOW 90 PERCENT so amazingly they lowered snow amounts from saturday afternoon when they were 4 to 6... they have 3 inches of snow on ground at midnight it snows all day today and only 1 more inch will accumulate? I am STUNNED ... anyone have an idea of what they are thinking / looking at?

WxMan1
kinda like the lull late last night 6" in Chester? Bull Sh*t... 3.5" MEASURED near Route 10 and Harrowgate Road, Chester, as of 7:45 pm when I left for work. Unless it snowed another 2.5" in 1:15, I don't buy that. Everything is going according to plan...for the most part. Max swath of 6-7" so far from AKQ tp VA Beach, lowering amounts as you go NW. The way the pcpn shield is pivoting, we may not get much more well W of I-95.
WeSuck
The pivot near WIL NC is looking great! When is the last time we had a real pivot pinwheel action over ORF from a storm?

Guest someguy
ok.... lets see... last night the pns showed 3 at Chester-- as of 11pm the airport reported 3 as of midnight. its been off and on snowing ... all night... picking up recently and its omly to 3.5... there are folks west of chester reporting more than that TOTAL SNOWFALL amounts have been lowered to 2 to 4 inches from yesterday..... so even if we use 3.5... and it snows until late afternoon... um.... strongly agree about the pivot and west of I-95 being the cutoff
