Kean, were you working last night? Can you give us any sense about what it was like at the office?

Thanks!

Nope...been off since Wed night. Been monitoring since I've been away though. "wow" just about covers it. I think . Midlo, I know you were, I just figured I'd mention it to everyone since you made the map...seemed like a good time.

OK, I got my 1-3" winter weather advisory. The reality is the headline won't affect the outcome. DT has me in 8-11"?????? I think I'll wait and see what verifies

3" already? Really?? We have been in contact with numerous law enforcement and weather spotters up in that area and the most we can get out of them is .5 to 1", mainly on grassy surfaces.

Sorry I should have used an emoticon. It's only .5". My bad.Sarcasm.

LOL!! You're killing me WW! ;)

Drive safely everyone. Gonna be TOUGH SLEDDING coming into working tomorrow morning!! For the record I live in the Chester area (DT land). It would be NICE to not be in a snow total MINIMUM for a change!

I hear that...

It'll be interesting what the Richmond Airport total will come out to be...... compared to surrounding locations again.

Not working today, but you guys are getting really wrapped up over what amounts to an administrative issue. As Brian explained very nicely, when an advisory isn't issued by the midcrew, and WSW conditions aren't expected in the first period (i.e. this morning/aftn), what you have there is perfectly reasonable. The WWA map got updated at 4 as is expected. In any case, sit back and relax, the fun part is next! :)

read the 4pm afd... 4-6 for RIC?

oh my god...

the 18z throws A ton mositure west into richmond and the 9z and 15z sref are sopping wet

and with a 14 :1 nwsfo akq is going 4 to 6?

i dont figure that at all

4-6 for RIC after the 18z Nam ? and 15z sref?

wow.... and that is with 12:1 and 14:1 ratio

so what ... akq thinks .20 liquid is all that is going to fall..??

Tonight: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 32. North wind between 8 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday Night: A chance of snow, mainly before 1am, then a chance for flurries. Cloudy, with a low around 19. North wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wakefield just decreased me down to nothing. I have reason to believe this is personal now. **** I already have an inch ****

That map is more than the last map out here. 3" now for Fluvanna, but yet they dropped me down to trashcan and cartop totals in my local forecast.

The WSW and the .PNG image are designed to tell the tale, NOT the ZFP. If the WSW says 1-3 for you, then that's what it is. I think too much is being read into minutia here. As to the forecast, it's obviously not mine but it looks like it'll be a pretty good one to me. Could there be some locally higher amounts? Yeah...always are. This gets reflected in the "LOCALLY HIGHER..." wording. The average alloted in the forecast is certainly within reason. I'd still be wary of the overrunning fouling things up for the morning (Shades of January 2010?) In any event, may I suggest everyone take a deep breath and look at the snow. Sheesh!

 I don't think you would want me working for you. I recently received a promotion at work for spotting inconsistencies in workflow management. I was named director of process improvement for my division. It's what I do. So, if you're telling me 3" then I won't open my local forecast anymore. I like the axis of the radar now. We're set up pretty well. I just hope we don't lose the back edge out this way when this whole thing starts to pivot.

Dude. Take your facts and logic and get out of my thread. This is snow we're talking about here. LOL.

p.s. If you jinxed us by bringing up the early shut off last year, I'm gonna hunt ya down and make you steal midlo's snow thrower for my house.
