WhiteKEAN2004
Kean, were you working last night? Can you give us any sense about what it was like at the office? Thanks! Nope...been off since Wed night. Been monitoring since I've been away though. "wow" just about covers it. I think . Midlo, I know you were, I just figured I'd mention it to everyone since you made the map...seemed like a good time.
WxMan1
OK, I got my 1-3" winter weather advisory. The reality is the headline won't affect the outcome. DT has me in 8-11"?????? I think I'll wait and see what verifies 3" already? Really?? We have been in contact with numerous law enforcement and weather spotters up in that area and the most we can get out of them is .5 to 1", mainly on grassy surfaces. Gonna be TOUGH SLEDDING coming into working tomorrow morning!! For the record I live in the Chester area (DT land). It would be NICE to not be in a snow total MINIMUM for a change! Guest someguy
Not working today, but you guys are getting really wrapped up over what amounts to an administrative issue. As Brian explained very nicely, when an advisory isn't issued by the midcrew, and WSW conditions aren't expected in the first period (i.e. this morning/aftn), what you have there is perfectly reasonable. The WWA map got updated at 4 as is expected. In any case, sit back and relax, the fun part is next! read the 4pm afd... 4-6 for RIC? oh my god... the 18z throws A ton mositure west into richmond and the 9z and 15z sref are sopping wet and with a 14 :1 nwsfo akq is going 4 to 6? i dont figure that at all

The WSW and the .PNG image are designed to tell the tale, NOT the ZFP. If the WSW says 1-3 for you, then that's what it is. I think too much is being read into minutia here. As to the forecast, it's obviously not mine but it looks like it'll be a pretty good one to me. Could there be some locally higher amounts? Yeah...always are. This gets reflected in the "LOCALLY HIGHER..." wording. The average alloted in the forecast is certainly within reason. I'd still be wary of the overrunning fouling things up for the morning (Shades of January 2010?) In any event, may I suggest everyone take a deep breath and look at the snow. Sheesh! I recently received a promotion at work for spotting inconsistencies in workflow management. I was named director of process improvement for my division. It's what I do. So, if you're telling me 3" then I won't open my local forecast anymore. I like the axis of the radar now. We're set up pretty well. I just hope we don't lose the back edge out this way when this whole thing starts to pivot.
