mitchnick
NAM folds. What a POS model. Everything that's not a road has a good dusting. Small flakes at a moderate to heavy clip. and don't be surprised if it increases qpf at 0Z the radar general signature is great, though the qpf seems low for such a classic, beautiful radar signature maybe I'm wrong, but I say it increases qpf for all next run
WxMan1
So the upshot is I get my WSW, right? Ground's covered out here. Yes...at the VERY least advisory.

retusnmete8
18z NAM is in and I am a believer again. Increasing my predictions from 3-6" to 4-8" perhaps 5-10" for ORF.. Enjoy.
weathervswife
Kind of surprised you are getting heavy enough rates to accumulate. Nothing here. I really hope the dry pocket to the west starts to fill. Well, we are at 31 now, so that helps. I just went outside again. Actually roads are starting to get covered in the shaded spots. Definitely not big fluffly flakes, but more fine, almost like snow grains but really coming down good now.
Guest someguy
FWIW 18Z Nam a bit wetter now into Central VA. Total liquid QPF now on the order of .4 to .5" through 12Z MON across the RIC area. That's 4" west of town and 5-6" along I-95 through 00Z Mon...getting closer to the GFS through the same time frame (6-8") and 15Z SREF (6-7"). Strong lift through the max dendritic zone even along and a bit w of the I-95 corridor...along with the lower 1000-700 mb temps/thicknesses...would support snow-water ratios closer to 12-14 to 1 vs. 10-1. yuppers channel 6 slam at DT -- the sky is falling ----while they went with dusting to 1" is going to come back to bite them on theio as$ BIG time

weathervswife
Yes...at the VERY least advisory. I know CHO has WS watches out. It would look pretty silly on the map to show Albemarle with a warning and Fluvanna with an advisory. I'm just looking out for you guys.
