WOW. Listen, the sleet potential is there as the low passes by but after that the snow comes in.
SEVAsNOwSTORM
WOW. Listen, the sleet potential is there as the low passes by but after that the snow comes in. That's an old discussion. It all depends on where the low is and we obviously do not know that right now. It could just as easily be all snow. We will have a much better idea tomorrow night. If it does mix, I don't think it would for very long, maybe a few hours at the most. That is unless the low takes an inland route which is not likely. WhiteoutWX
I just got home and missed all the local mets. I thought Bernier would be the first to go all in. NBC 12 always seems to be the last. Duncan downplayed it pretty hard, saying that most of the models favor the out to sea track and only light snow in Richmond. Didnt see WTVR's newscast. Didnt see WTVR's newscast. I probably would be doing the same. I also would state the potential exist and to STAY TUNED.

Kevin Druff
Fingers crossed that she holds off until the official due date. Thanks. I don't think we'll make it that far. She's not due until the 18th of January. After next Wednesday she'll be considered full term, so i won't be as worried. Still plenty nervous about becoming a dad though. rainstorm
then they need to co-ordinate better. 1046pm discussion mentions only sleet here sunday. nothing about all snow: BASED ON THE GFS/ECMWF LLVL THICKNESSES (WHICH ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT) AND LIKELIHOOD OF EXTENSIVE CLOUDS/PRECIP...HIGHS MAY NOT GET OUT OF THE LWR-MID 30S SUN OVER THE NRN HALF OF THE FCST REGION. MEANWHILE... LIKELY COLDER THAN MOS ON SUN WITH THE STRONG CAA AND PSBL CONTINUED CLOUDINESS/WRAP AROUND PCPN BEHIND DEEPENING OFFSHORE LOW (AND TEMPS MAY ACTUALLY FALL DURING THE DAY SUNDAY ALONG THE COAST AS LOW LVL FLOW BACKS FROM NE TO N THEN NNW LATER IN THE DAY). CONCERNED WITH SLEET POTENTIAL OVER EASTERN SHORE/TIDEWATER FOR SUNDAY AS SFC LOW MOVES BY...BUT FOR NOW HV CALLED IT RNSN UNTIL FORECAST TRACK AND TIMING GETS RESOLVED A BIT BETTER. looks like its just a repeat of 4pm

Coach McGuirk
GFS looks real nice for SE VA. all snow to the coast.. I doubt it's all snow, we're probably looking at 2-3 from the 00z GFS. If it is all snow, I doubt all of it sticks as light snow at 32-34. That doesn't do very well. Anyway, plenty of time for changes good or bad. If I had to guess, bad. Kevin Druff
McGuirk, I'm still waiting to hear if you are a betting man and what you want if your forecast for no VA location > 3" verifies ...
Coach McGuirk
McGuirk, I'm still waiting to hear if you are a betting man and what you want if your forecast for no VA location > 3" verifies ... The last bet I made was for a bottle of vodka. I don't think the loser has actually made due on that bet. Anyway, if I'm doing another bet I need a specific location to bet on.... not just some random place in VA.
VAB1
The differences between the 0z 12/23 Canadian and the 12z 12/22 Euro are mind-boggling. Especially for an event that is less than 4 days away. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.
