Coach McGuirk
It's a different set-up but in a way this reminds me of 1/25/2004. Really cold air was in place and it was expected to move out as precip moved in but it just stayed there on top of us as freezing rain and sleet. The snow was expected at the beginning, of course but we never changed over to just rain.

RIC Airport
It's a different set-up but in a way this reminds me of 1/25/2004. Really cold air was in place and it was expected to move out as precip moved in but it just stayed there on top of us as freezing rain and sleet. The snow was expected at the beginning, of course but we never changed over to just rain. You can click here for the radar imagery for that storm. Temperatures at ORF were in the lower 20s at the time the precip started. A good 3-4" accumulated most places before the quick change to ZR took place. I remember it very well.....I lived down there at the time.

Huffwx
Fast mover-- For my region I'm worried we don't get over 2-3 inches. Best VV"s slide to our SE and upglide from overunning moves north and were stuck in the middle.
Coach McGuirk
GFS gives me about 3 inches of snow and the rest is a mess. Thinking about it, my current temp is 23 and my dewpoint is 9. I just don't see myself getting above freezing tomorrow. Freezing rain, here we come.

Coach McGuirk
Onky if you are a Moron and you dont know what the hell you are talking about I certainly could be wrong but I think a lot of sleet and zr will take the totals down, so I'm standing by my first guess. Martin
Virginia Beach public schools are closed today. This means Norfolk, Portsmouth and Chesapeake will close. Norfolk never had the balls to close on their own anyway. They always waited for Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Now the real question is ODU. Everyone closed. Still waiting on colleges
