SeanVA
Hello! .. Been getting chilly at nights recently! Frost was on my car on the way home from work north of Richmond.. :-x Hello fellow Richmond goers! Why is it colder here than at Snowshoe, WV? I want to be skiing by turkey day! I think this will end up being a good thing for the forum

I think this will end up being a good thing for the forum Would need to look into that... been out of the loop this week or so. With out looking into exact weather conditions this past week.... Could of been calmer conditions here at night with less clouds to lead to better radiational cooling conditions here.. maximizing our potential drop in temperatures at night. Though this is with out looking at Snowshoe's conditions. :X

RIC Airport
Thanks for the PM Midlo, I was wanting to go on E US and save a lot of my weather posts/attachments, but too bad I'm unable to do that. A lot of research and information just got lost!

Billabong
Thanks for the PM Midlo, I was wanting to go on E US and save a lot of my weather posts/attachments, but too bad I'm unable to do that. A lot of research and information just got lost! According to OT, he'll be opening it up as read-only for a time. I'm writing a paper on June 16th severe and would really like to see if there's any maps or useful data that was posted. It would be amazing if we were able to get the entire database over here... there is a ton of EXTREMELY valuable local observations/reports from eastern that has built up over the years. RFp622
Waiting on winter to come, but with nice one that we has last year I am not to hopeful about this year. I cannot remember the last time Richmond had 2 good winters in a row.

I cannot remember the last time Richmond had 2 good winters in a row. Back to Back 20"+ seasons at RIC have only occurred 5 times since 1897. We had 4 in a row in the the 1960s. 1946-47: 23.1" 1947-48: 26.2" 1963-64: 24.5" 1964-65: 20.4 1965-66: 29.2" 1966-67: 35.8" 1978-79: 20.2" 1979-80: 38.9" 1981-82: 21.2" 1982-83: 29.4" I guess that tells us our odds of a snowy winter next year. I don't like the chances of a snowy winter this year... Which totally rules out this line of thought for next year's winter! Will have to see how the pacific evolves next year .... CarolineWx
The pacific jet looks horrible over the next 2 weeks, one storm after another, i do think there will be some breaks with it this winter but nothing long lasting.

I assume Rainstorm will be there I think it's going to be way more religious than people think. Jon made a bunch of FB posts about it and it was posted on the Bring Back Jon Cash page to about 7,500 people... so he'll probably have a good turn out. Did anyone tell the AKQ Mets about coming over here? I was actually in the middle of talking with Brian. Seems like he's been pretty busy. If nobody has told him or Mike I can shoot them an email. Martin
Jon Cash needs to stop whining and move on with his life. I was in Va Beach for lunch so I did end up stopping by. Very poor turn out. Perhaps 120 people but thats a kind estimate. In his defense he didn't mention his firing and kept it religious/political. I am not a big religious enthusiast but I could get behind the things he said. In a way I felt sorry that there were so few people. I chatted him up a little bit and talked briefly about weather stuff. He is a nice guy and a great public speaker. I didn't always agree with his forecasting but I respect the man.
