7.7F was the low in Clarksburg about 40 minutes ago (6:20am). Coldest morning of the year so far. 11.1F was yesterday's low but it was at 1am. Temps rose to 17F by daybreak. High was only another 3 degrees higher at 21.1F as the CAA kicked in behind the trough and flurries yesterday.

Edited to add: just dropped to 7.4F at 7:19am

Thats what i said, been snowing on and off for an hour

well if you look at burke va vs. ric there is a lot wider snow band down there. snow tends to fall through dry air easier than rain in my experience but there's not much falling up this way at all and it's mainly moving east.

Yea, what's up with that? Looks like a big plume of overruning is developing in front of our low in the gulf. Extrapolating radar indicates that the models are busting huge and we could be in for a long duration HECS.

Weatherbug and the National Weather Service radars look really different. One shows precip right overhead and the other has hardly anything in central Virginia?!

I thought that this might be a good place to post things that weren't so pressing so as to not clutter the main storm thread. We should probably leave that thread for those that have legitimate meteorological posts.

Anyway, a couple of people have already said that it looks like temperatures will bust much lower than thought today. Any thoughts?

And as far as WSW for the remaining LWX area, I read this on their site from the 11AM discussion, so maybe a watch for others with the afternoon package around 3 this afternoon.

THERE STILL A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS

SYSTEM AS IT WONT TAKE MUCH TO CHANGE THERMAL PROFILES FROM ONE

SUPPORTING RA TO SN ACROSS A GOOD PART OF THE AREA. AFTER A LOOK

AT THE 12Z GUIDANCE...WILL MAKE HEADLINE ADJUSTMENTS IF NECESSARY.
