2nd run in a row it's been like that. It'll be warm compared to the icebox preceding it, but at worst it looks seasonable.

Going to Florida for Spring break again. :sizzle:

Chicago can now bank on another late March snowfall.

the worst was i was in fort lauderdale for spring break 08, I had somewhat followed the ecmwf before we left but the day we came back i was watching the weather channel videos of the ohio storm, it was such a nightmare trying to get through the cincy on north on 75. A day and a half latter they barely had 1 lane open and basically it was a 50/50 gamble on who would go off the road we saw hundreds of accidents. Granted my city didn't get hit but i still had to drive through quite the epic remains of a giant ohv blizzard.

Flying FTW.

Though, a road trip can be nice.

Warm ups are overrated.

Agree :)

It is snowing again, or as my brother said, "what else is new?".

From January 4th to February 6th, DTW saw 33.7" of snow. If you do a 1-month timespan, January 6th to February 6th, still 33.3" fell! So certainly a very quick pickup after December was more or less 1 big snowstorm then cold with a few dustings. That combined with the deep snowpack, and this may go into that thread of best month to month and a half stretches, I will decide later :)

The poor U.P. Here is something you will probably NEVER see again.

Feb 6, 2011 snow depth:

PARADISE (1N)- 8"

DETROIT (DTW)- 16"

Tantalizingly close to 10" for February in MBY, just 0.5" away. Which if we could get there, would make for only the second time in LAF/WL's history that had 3 consecutive months of 10"+ (1902-03 being the only time it's happened). Medium to long range looks like hell though, so we'll see...

still a decent snow with upstream returns looking solid and fairly slow moving, might pick up an inch.

EDIT: Solid 20-25 dbz high end mod with large flakes. possibly the nicest dendrites of the year.

EDIT X2: getting very close to +SN

Looking nice towards the city and north. Radar filling in nicely north and west of the city as well into Wisconsin.
