  1. Sitting out on my balcony here in the UWS and def still hot, not sure when this thing will come but it does look like it has already gone thru parts of northern and western Queens
  2. Still scorching at 88 here in the UWS
  3. Interesting, will be cool to see how this plays out
  4. At this rate the western parts of NYC may get it before western LI! Didn't even know this to be a possibility!
  5. You should post the minute by minute obs between 8AM and 9AM when the temp dropped 20 degrees or so in 10 minutes!
  6. BDCF just about to push through Sag Harbor and Southold. Easily visible on the OKX radar. Interesting shape too - sort of a backward "S" shape as it curves north-westward over the Sound into CT and then north-eastward from the CT coast to the interior and then curves northwestward again.
  7. Ok thanks, 6PM makes more sense, thought it was 8.
  8. Is it supposed to slow down? At this rate it could make it to the City a bit earlier than expected which I think was around 8PM.
  9. Crazy differences in temps between the Boston area and here. The backdoor already blasted through there and temps down to the mid 60s! Cool stuff.
  10. Pretty cool that you can see it on radar though what exactly is the radar picking up associated with the front?
  11. a/c? Highs barely made 70!
  12. Yea sort of agree here, and as usual this Spring you only have to get to Philly to see some sun and 80s. We will definitely get it (and then some) tomorrow though!
  13. Tell that to my kids who now are stuck inside on a Saturday afternoon.
  14. What's crazy is that even Boston gets into the 80s this weekend while we remain stuck in the low to mid 70s
  15. Was at the Yankee game last night (epic) and it was way too cold for my liking, looking forward to some warmer days/nights!
  16. Mostly cloudy now in the city, even some radar echoes not so far off the shore. Wasn't even expecting cloudy conditions at all today.
  17. Forecast in CPK for Wed-Sat has dropped since yesterday by several degrees. Went from upper 70s/near 80 to low 70s.
  18. You pretty much can't get a worse few days in May and the fact that it's during the weekend makes it that much worse. Just nasty out here in the city.
  19. Forecasts now do show a 50% chance of rain on Sunday. Also, what used to be a forecast of mid to upper 70s next Wed-Sat is now low 70s (with a max of 74 on Sat). Meanwhile places like Montreal/Ottawa will be in the 80s! I'm not complaining about low 70s but hope it doesn't drop further into the 60s.
  20. Yea agree though at least last week was dry
  21. And DC hit 80. We've been on the wrong side way too many times this Spring!
  22. Last post on this topic but found this cool video that recorded it pretty well:
  23. Here's an explanation I found regarding why it was so loud (lots of discussion about how loud it was in twitter): https://twitter.com/MezcalSoprano/status/1521107194187558915?s=20&t=ga02ZrVUhPiRMX0V0qgCVA
  24. One of the strikes caused an insanely loud rumble of thunder where I live and it happened simultaneously with the strike so it was very close to my building. Certainly no need for an alarm this morning!
  25. Quite the impressive lighting and extremely loud thunder here in the UWS 15 mins ago, was very summer like
