  1. 80s where crap too. I remember green Christmas almost every year as a kid. Vaugley remember leap day storm in 84 32 inches of lake snow in rochester. Almost sure someone in county saw over 40 near lake.
  2. Roc snowfall in the 1940s. Its a pattern up and down. My guess driven bye pacific patterns
  3. Even cmc shows the lake effect for buffalo. It just the upper air pattern is diffrent between the 2 for next system. Pretty high confidence level buffalo gets hit decent.
  4. Rochester has average snow for season if we where in same location as Cleveland. Smh. 17.9 inches should be at 32 or so. Hope we overcome. Lol
  5. 18z looks to be a bit flatter with next trough. Will make a difference in next storm.
  6. Gfs top cmc bottom. Also makes a difference in if buffalo gets hit or if its south of Buffalo proper. Sharper it is more sw the winds will be.
  7. Next system hinges on how sharp of flat the next trough is. More zonal better shot at a storm up this way. Sharper the trough the more south east it will be. So gotta keep an eye on 500 mb
  8. There will be some light snow shower activity. No background moisture so not much more than a inch or 2. Overnight
  9. Love when you can Huron and georgian Bay along with superior. You get a band from soo locks into Huron that crosses lake ontario into orleans County and south east. All the while a slightly more northerly flow feeds a band from georgian Bay into Huron band. Thing of beauty.
  10. I would say wnw. Nw usually takes snow sw of syr into finger lakes. So 280 to 300 degrees you can still get a strong single band. Perfect usually for rochester to syr. Once you go nw band tends to break up into multiple bands and weaker. Unless you get a connection from georgian Bay. But that usually effects areas from rochester to finger lakes.
  11. Decent hit from euro. Even showing some enhanced precip from ontario.
  12. Would expect to see another 2 to locally 4 inches in monroe county as north wind kicks in between now and tomorrow am
  13. My gut tells me the next storm will effect us in western ny. Will be a fast mover but could give several inches.
  14. North Carolina is a interesting place. Far enough north that every few years they can get a whopper of a snowstorm. I have heard when they get over a foot of snow they call it the Rochester express.
  15. Yeah gfs is all or nothing. Lol. Very fast moving dynamic pattern evolving. Should be fun to watch for next couple weeks. Lots of potential. Between lake effect and synoptic systems. Hopefully after nov dec we can finish out winter strong and have a killer jan feb March.
