No GEFS support... we toss. [emoji6] One member has a southern slider at 360 though.

Picked up almost 2” in Charlottesville. Would’ve been a banger of a winter storm.

This one woulda hurt in winter.

Absolutely ripping raindrops. Rain in college really does suck, but I guess we needed the rain.

There is a GEFS member with 3” of snow in DC in only 264 hours. We are getting closer to real fantasy snow game time.

Reviving an earlier discussion: emailed WeatherBell and they say they expect to relaunch the Ptype product for GEFS members in the next couple weeks and are looking to add more winter weather products.

I feel like there have been a ton of phantom echoes on LWX radar recently. There didn't used to be persistent light echos showing up across the area. Going to be annoying come winter.

It took me a long time to find, but at least some of the goods are there. No problem. It’s still missing a couple things that make weathermodels tempting... I liked my 6z/18z EURO and UKMET precip access. Chance I end up getting both once we start tracking real threats. Bad for my poor college student budget.

Not as far as I can tell, but I’ve only had it for one day and haven’t been checking much other than to familiarize myself with the layout. They are advertising their use of the Google Cloud somewhat extensively, in theory they claim it’ll make maps generate faster and stop those issues, I think.

Not what you asked but I just re-upped my subscription to WeatherBell. They’ve redesigned their site and I like it a lot. Took me about an hour to get used to the new layout and find the maps I used to like I look at. The maps themselves look pretty great and the site is nice on mobile, which is important for me.

I admittedly don’t know any PowerPoint shorthand, but your CRTL skills don’t impress me. [emoji14] Favorite CRTL shortcuts I’ve picked up for notetaking: CRTL+SHIFT+V: paste without formatting CRTL+SHIFT+8: begin bullet points I’ll admit some weakness here too: I type like someone would text, with two fingers. It’s slightly embarrassing but I learned to type before I got formal typing lessons and was far too stubborn to relearn. I’m a better typist than must of my colleagues, but my skills are definitely capped on WPM.

These days they have programs that verify everything is up to whatever the professors standards are. I missed the years in college where you could pretty safely get away with that! That said, it is unbelievable how many professors have videos accidentally auto play and can’t get the sound on... so maybe I giving them too much credit.

Two spaces at the end of a sentence is one of my biggest pet peeves. Clearly its a generational thing! These days it would honestly be considered a not-so-sneaky way to bump up your page count in an essay.

On Tropical Tidbits, you can now see the GFS snow output all the way to 384 hours. Gonna be a banner year for the Digital Snow Thread.

Very end of the 12z GFS got everyone into the thirties... first freeze in the western areas of the forum. Light snowfall in a bit of the Apps. Heck, 12z has a coastal somewhat near the coast. Makes me almost want to renew my WeatherBell subscription to see if any of the ensembles bring that into play.

97 in Charlottesville. Feels like 100. Horrible. Former record was 89. Absolutely smashed.
