    I just got out of the hot tub with my son. Heavy snow turned has turned to more of a frozen sleet type of dendrite all the way up here in Duchess. It’s not bona fide sleet but the characteristic of the snow definitely changed from powder to a more frozen type of precipitation. Not sure why. Hope that is short lived.

    Can’t believe Dutchess County NWS still has me as a storm watch.

    About 10 miles north of I84. Got 3 inches of snow from Monday’s storm. Hoping for a crush job so I don’t have to drive into the city as I do every day.

    Crush job tonight then disappointment tomorrow then tomorrow night hope returns. It always seems to play out this way. I just want some snow in the I84 neck of the woods.

    Another inch of snow overnight. Around 3” altogether. Nice to see white on the ground for a change. High of 16 predicted for Friday for me.

    Winter is done. Those who called it in December were correct. Can’t break the back of the Pacific flow.

    Like I have always said if we are below normal someone else is above normal. In the end there isn’t a normal if you ask me.

    What was last years “lesson learned” compared to this year? I don’t think we learned anything.

    It’s 15° here in lower Dutchess County. I still have snow from last week despite being above average. Tonight has been colder than the past several which have been in the lower 20’s with highs around 34 which is not mild. Mid forties to 50 is mild for this time of year. Only saw that on Christmas.

    So while many say climate change I would say pattern change. Snow is falling elsewhere if it’s not falling here. Just because our winters have sucked as of late doesn’t mean it translates worldwide.

    While I had about 17” so far this season it’s hard to break the back of the crappy pattern we are in. Bring on cold and snow. Hate boring mild winters.

    33 degrees and doing nothing in Dutchess. Snow overhead as per radar.

    Rain 37 degrees in Dutchess County. What a waste. Long range on my weather app is 40’s every day.

    Good maybe I will be able to keep my snow. Got about 6” snow depth left.

    Yes - same garbage as 2019. Last winter I remember checking my weather app and always seeing cold and snow in the unrealistic 10 day forecast but it never came. Oh wait, I had snow and cold in April and May which at that point we are all tired of winter.

    I have experienced sleet with temps in the teens. Talk about frustrating. Now I’m in Dutchess so I should be sitting pretty tonight.

    Graupel Falling intermittently this morning.

    Currently Ice pellets here. Mostly snow for the majority of the day but not much to show for it. All non paved surfaces are covered with slush on blacktop.
