    Our last late season storm was 4/16/21... I got 8.5" at my house There was a EF1 in Dutchess County NY and an EF0 in Litchfield County CT with wind reports up into W MA just 5 days later... is that the one you are talking about? There was really nothing notable in May in SNE... one late month event with some minor wind damage

    They're saying now an early 60s snowboarder dropped something from the chairlift onto a closed trail, ended up walking down to retrieve it, slipped on ice and slid into trees. Tragic, and almost hard to believe.

    Quite possibly fair, but will need to be scored. The internet has substantially empowered citizens and communities. Company gets caught polluting river? They go on blast. We can have legitimate arguments over the role of federal govt, but we all bear responsibilty for how we choose to spend our dollars and for monitoring local activities. Regardless how we feel about what's happening, I don't see the downside in taking a more proactive approach when it comes to shaming bad actors.

    If AC were to get prohibitively expensive you'd see real action on climate. Until then it's easily dealt with. Who's gonna give up their flight to Europe when they can just install a week earlier?

    Folks round here largely prefer this new climate regime and if anything tend to move south rather than north. Vanuatu might be screwed but a series of late 1970s winters would have people begging for the current status quo back. Is it taboo to acknowledge that?
