51, thin overcast, breeze

First thunderclap of the day
-
After a pretty extended period of dry and often sunny that line came through with heavy rain. Still pouring. No thunder however.
-
1.5" overnight currently in a gap with the sun out and some stadium effect going on. Little swirly low level stuff and very dark clouds to the south
-
we could really use some severe threats to discuss
-
Only 59 but amazing how strong and warm that sun feels
-
Sorry Steve
-
Miss Texas yet?
-
Must be nice to be a southern Italian
-
Yeah. Plus 2.5" hail a bit NW of there in Wise Co. I've been seeing it out the window every few mins. Big Ben kids... Parliament (kudos to anyone getting that reference)
-
I love these laser disdrometers for that reason. Plus they can estimate liquid water content of snow pretty well without taking a core. But the flip side is I just dropped 11 grand for that plus the data logger and the enclosure. So not really practical.

Range folding literally bisected the little "couplet", or at any rate, g2g shear region, on ENX. Box wasn't range folded I don't think but you're right that the radar is pretty useless for what could be, theoretically speaking, some low level spinup. As for me I've been in a holding pattern around storms in the DFW area for the last hour. Glad we had a lot of gas or we'd have diverted to Little Rock by now.

We were mid 20s 5/18/23. Wiped out the peach crop for the season. You had to be close to freezing there.
-
Some garden variety storms around... nothing exciting but a breeze helps to tolerate gross humidity
-
That's why we like to go to Truckee, or Fraser CO in June and July. Wake up to frost and spike up low 80s and strong sun. Today was perfection as far as Spring goes.
-
hit 35 here. Covered up the sensitive stuff just in case. The extra week and a half in the ground was worth the small amount of effort.
-
He'll be busy planting today
-
I went and covered everything. Pain in the ass but taking no chances with the full moon tonight. Always listen to the old wise men...

We got a narrow band of training heavy rains and embedded thunderstorms for like 3 hours before the shield blossomed to the east and the mesolow formed. Then just kept raining in the pivot. If only... ah nvm
-
Lol. I'm rarely serious. Anyway, nice steady rain falling here. SPC does have a 1" hail report in W Brookfield so it looks like the SVR earlier was validated. Good call by BOX there. Now waiting to see who jacks in ORH county, that front edge is moving slow.
-
Some storm scale rotation on that SVR. I'll be surprised if anyone gets quarters but even here I was wondering if a few peas might fall (they didn't) and it did pulse up after, but weakening now.

2025 Lawns & Gardens Thread. Making Lawns Great Again
radarman replied to Damage In Tolland's topic in New England
Keeping an eye on temps saturday night sunday morning. Planted early, but could cover stuff if necessary. Maybe winds and dews will stay up Edit- not looking like an issue -
Even 1:1 ratios would be great

I didn't realize it but the group that purchased Burke includes Jon Schaefer from Berkshire East. He sent out an email a little while ago that they'll have a whole new snowmaking system ready for next year. Should be beneficial to the mountain and the local community I would think.
