  1. Pardon the digression. Sorry Snowman for your loss. She is in a much better place now, no more suffering. Hang in there. Sorry to everyone here who has lost loved ones or going through tough times for any reason. Life is so hard and painful at times. Here on the weather forums, we all come together and go back and forth, sometimes contentious, conflicting, annoying, confronting, etc. But ultimately, we all have to deal with life's ups and downs and our shared humanity should iron out our conflicts and edges. My best wishes to you all for health and peace.
  2. Everyone please stay off the roads tomorrow if you can. Someone died in the ice event earlier this week with car pile ups everywhere. I hate ZR. Thank goodness it's Sunday. Temps are colder this time around too.
  3. Individual storm details will come into focus on closer range, so I ignore snow maps this far out. What is exciting is seemingly a developing favorable overall pattern for nor easters given a more cooperative Pacific and Atlantic. Let's see if that holds with future runs.
  4. Looks icy tomorrow.. Everyone please be careful.
  5. Sorry to hear. Wishing you and your family better health and better days. Hang in there.
  6. I under measured earlier. Looks like 3 inches. I will take. Sure looks pretty out there.
  7. Fringed as expected. An inch here. Jealous of the 6-8 south and east. Happy for them too.
  8. Above a couple of inches won't likely happen Thursday night into Friday in our neck of the woods. Action is south and east again. Let's see mid month.
  9. Happy 2022 all. Let's see what our snow chances are this winter. A bit stinging to watch the fun to our south today. Friday may be interesting.
  10. It's been so warm, a mosquito came into my house yesterday and bit me. I am serious!
  11. I am definitely a weenie, but when it doesn't snow, I just look at the bright side of that (don't have to clean up, no driving issues, no disruptions, lower risk for accidents, injuries etc). Chins up weenies. Winter is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get! Love, Forrest.
  12. Agree about the west needing moisture. Lots of snow for the Sierras, good for water reserves.
  13. Crazy. They just had snow there last week.
  14. Really sick of these windy and squally frontal passages with risk of convection especially in early to mid Dec. Enough already, as if we have a choice. Nature will do what it will do alas.
  15. Pretty out of the ordinary isn't it?
  16. That 3/14/17 storm was a white monster up here in Poughkeepsie. 22 inches.
  17. It's about time we get away from sexere threats from cold fronts to cold season, winter synoptic patterns and forecasts. Had enough of tornadoes in our neck of the woods. Had a tornado 5 miles from me on Friday. Good to see blue back on maps, actual outcome to be seen.
  18. I am good with seasonal temps. Save money on heating. Let the snow come in Dec, hopefully.
  19. A plus EPO, neg PNA regime makes it much more difficult for sustained cold and snow, but how would a plus EPO in combo with Atlantic blocking (neg NAO, AO) look like? Analogues? I would imagine transient and brief cold periods with potential snow amidst a sea of above normal temps.
  20. Yeah, winter during winter would be a nice change. A white Christmas for all too would be sweet. One can dream.
